Are we talking first custom here? Or first custom EVER?
My very first customs I got paid for?
- a pair of dice each side was a fully 3-D Skull with a number on the head total pain to weight to roll properly
- A naked vampire chick based on Elvira
I used some really toxic smelling Testors sculpting stuff for the ears, a rubber band for his belt and superglued the broken arm on. I painted it black and then rub blue paint over it using a paper towel.
Well this was my first custom, it wasn't so long ago in reality, yet it also feels really long ago. I learned so much in a short period of time. Now this is really embarrassing so bear with me.
This was one of those Hasbro forsaken Spiderman 3 figures, the little buggers that everyone hates. I pretty much ignored the way spidey looked in the comic and just did my own thing. I knew when I put it up on eBay it was a mess, and yet it sold for a whopping $11. I actually lost money on it but was thrilled that it sold! LOL. I had no clue what I was doing with modding then, and right after this fig was my stealth wolvie. I almost quit entirely when I finished this piece, deciding I was done before I started but my Buddy Wraith kept encouraging me. (thanks buddy!!) By the way, that was this past April.
I wish I had some pics of him still. When I first made it I didn't really care to show it off, I was just happy that I had the back stabbing turncoat of STARS
I even made a cool display like the last scene of RE. I used a pop bottle and set Tyrant inside of it then built a control panel out of random stuff I had lying around. I went so far as using Taco Bell Fire and Hot sauce as blood and guts on my exploded zombie dogs!
Nuts, I think the first one I made was one of the early GLs (the 5-inch scale ones). I regret not customizing the 6-inch figs first, I would have my GL army by now :P
MY first custom was a Albert Wesker figure from the 5" Resident Evil line. I used a Johnny Blaze figure for the base. He came out pretty good for a first try. Then about 3 years ago I decided to clear out some of my stuff (I miss some of it) so I sold all of my RE characters and monster off in a lot on ebay. I thought it was was wacky when I got 68.00 out of the character lot. The contacted me later and said that the only reason he wanted the lot was for the Wesker figure He ended up reselling the rest of the figures later on ebay.
Always liked this one..Wish I had a sin eraser Camera...To take pics of the family with
Oh...is that so thay can take you out of the picture?
