Anyone ever pull out the neck of an ML 4 Punisher?

Posted in Custom Workstation

and if so how did you do it - heat & pop? Want to be able to put it back.

I'm making an old school Punisher using the torso, arms, neck and head of the series 4 Punisher and the lower body of a Bullseye. The waist peg is rattling around in the Punisher's torso and I want to get it out but I don't want to crack the torso open or make the waist peg hole any bigger so I was wondering if I could pop the neck out and dump the offending debris out.

I was just using a hair dryer. I may have been a little impatient with it too when I saw how long it was and it didn't just pop out. Also when I realised that the peg hole wasn't going to be big enough to dump out the debris rattling in his chest I made the decision that I was going to have to dremel the peg hole wider anyway. When I put him back together I will just glue the neck down and use the ball bearing-magnet combo for the head.

I just submerged the entire upper body in a cup full of freshly boiled water, let it sit for a minute and yanked it out.

How about pouring boiling water into the figure's chest cavity with a dropper or something?

Hurm... I did it and it worked before. Maybe I just got lucky?

what you'll find is a sooper long peg which will probably rip - like mine did. s'okay by me for my custom - just gonna glue the neck back in place.

He's popping out the ENTIRE NECK, not just the head, that's why it's...wierd xD Now I have to try it out...

I have poped the peg out of 3 different punisher heads... and 2 mags also (same peg)

I boiled them, BUT I had to do it for longer than your average boil and pop.... make it softer so ensure you don't beak the peg

I used need nose pliers

I'm ripping him apart! Basically I'm making this custom for many reasons - most of all to try out some of the fancy mod things and to get into the figures to see how they're put together and just how hard they are to take apart. It's more exercise and practise than anything else.

I had pulled the head off a while ago - was thinking of using it for a Conan, and probably will. Well another Punisher head that is... Not this one... Cuz I'm doing this thing here...

Gaw! What are you doing to his neck! >_<

Lol, I've only popped his head off and it's just a ball-socket (it's like a bar-bell-shaped rod, one ball in the head and the other in the neck). Never tried ripping-out his neck though...and yeah, the neck moves independently, but it's great because you can make Frank face upwards by twisting the neck around! Turn the adam's apple to the back and he can face in any direction!

Nope - sooper-dooper long peg holding the neck in - ended up breaking the peg. No biggie - I'll just glue the neck back on. Don't know why they made it so that the neck could turn - I didn't realise it until I had popped his noggin' off.

I widened the hole in the neck and got the debris out too.

Gonna use the head / magnet - neck / ball bearing mod and the waist swap mod on this one too.

Boil and Pop should work.
