Yeah I just take photos on my kitchen counter. The light is pretty good in there. I use a black vinyl background. The pics come out awesome now.

This may not apply to you but I have found its best to take pics when its dark outside & rely on the reg. household lighting.
The room I take pics in has a big window & I always seem to get a nasty glare from the daylight if I snap pics when its light out.
Avoid windows during the day.
Hope that helps.

another thing that would probably help is use contrasting colors so the figures stand out more to the camera. like try and re shoot Sinestro on a green backdrop and your picture will probably turn out better

Grey,

Try a sheet of Gray poster board as a back drop.

Thanks fellas, yeah I had no clue about reflective fabrics causing grief with focus, that would explain a lot actually. also I am having a dog of a time figuring out why things get so blurry when I set it on macro as opposed to not setting it on macro, it's almost like the macro flower setting is the opposite of what everyone says it is...unless that's from the reflective material which is possible. I just hung a T-shirt in the background on the red background pieces. but I think I might be setting the figure too close to the background, this could be why the camera is giving me really great shots of the fibers in the t-shirt and not of the ring detail on Sinestro...heh...and I thought I was approaching done when it came to photography - lol I am just getting started!!! ugh I hate learning curve - I want to be good NOW!!!

yep GM looking good, but id stay away from fabrics that creat reflections as it can ruin the focus for the figure...but yep looking good man!
