Swapping heads on a ML fig

Posted in Custom Workstation

I can't seem to figure out how to do this short of sawing the head off and gluing it back onto the figure. I want to keep all that articulation. Any suggestions?

Yeah, those heads are connected with pegs. I call those "swivel-hinges" because they are like a hinge connected to the body and the peg part goes into the head, making a swivel. Remember, you're only popping-off the head, not the entire joint.

What figure is it? There are different types of neck-joints, but the heads all pop-out the same way for the most part.

Is it really just a peg? It looks different, like some kind of up and down swivel thing as opposed to a simple spinning peg.

Yar, since the head is so thick, you're going to have to heat it up longer so the plastic on the inside gets softer. Then pop the head off like you would any other arm or leg.

I boil and pop. Boil some water, throw the fig in there for 45 seconds, remove it and the head should come right off. You can use a hairdryer too if you don't feel comfortable dealing with boiling water. Now if the peg hole doesn't fit the head. Just demel the hole bigger with the rounded dentist bit. If the hole is too big you could fill it in with apoxie sculpt and let it harden and redrill the hole to size.
