Need some materials

Posted in Custom Workstation

I need to get some purple enamel paint, and some kind of enamel sealer online. Or are acrylics meant to be better to use? They never seem to work well for me at all.

Most paint companies have a color catalog. If you search on their site, it's usually pretty easy to locate.

Where do you guys get your paints?

And is there a way I can see the color before I buy it online?

also, painting in thin coats is worth it, cuz the final paint job will be super smooth! and thats what you want in the end.

Well it depends on what colors you're using. Yellow is notorious for requiring a lot of coats while darker colors generally only need one or two coats. I'd suggest either Testor or Vellejo Game Color paints. You can find them at http://www.vallejopaints.co.uk

trust me Kittie. I painted a Wolverine figure with enamel and it's still sticky to this day and he was painted 2 years ago . Enamel is best for car or airplane models but not for a custom. But Testors Arcylic paint, that's what I use. You can usually get them at Walmart near all there vehicle model kits.

Never had any problem with Enamels. The acrylics I have have to be put on REALLY heavily before they cover up areas.

What kind would you recommend? Where can I get them, and the sealant?

Enamels can make some plastic really sticky.

You want to use acrylic when at all possible. Apparently enamel eats away at many of the plastics used in action figures. Plus it tends to be too shiny.
