Hoody Help!

Posted in Custom Workstation

Heres my question that I need help with:

If you were a kid in the Marvel Universe what type of hoody would you wear?

This question is 100% serious as it is part of a figure I'm working on!

here in tampa only rockers wear hoodies, with things like tool or cradle of filth on them.

wiggers and thugs wear tank tops all year, no matter where they go

Heh, I can see that.

Its just become second nature to refer to one as a Hoody and more then one to be Hoodies-then again thats pretty much how everyone talks about them around here and I live in the middle of nowhere so we've got only a handful of true "wiggers" out here.

Guess it pretty much changes with the area-but all and all they are common pretty much everywhere.

Agreed, like I said... I have plenty of hooded sweaters... but around here only "wiggers" call them "hoodies".

Exactly, warm, big pocket for storage and a hood for when it gets cold or rains.

Where Im at its really common, almost unofficially mandatory. Everyone has at least one hoody for either casual wear or just as a coat. Most of us wear hoodies that have something we like(sports, TV, music, etc)

Ironically the gangster wannabes don't usually wear hoodies(which I just realized)...just their pants down to their knees...

I sport my custom Resident Evil hoody

Heh yeah, see? I'm not saying it's good or fair that many people make that assumption... just that it exists. I'm sorry to hear that people do make assumptions about ya due to your wardrobe, Deadeye. It's like how 90% of my friends got flak after the Columbine incident because they wear black trenchcoats. "Ohmigod! He's got to be carrying a gun under there! Help! Police!"

I wear a black hoodie to keep the sun out my eyes AND where a pair of dark shades cos of my photosensitive eye condition - people often mistake me for a junkie or mugger

And at 6'+ and looking like an undead wrestler for skintone and build - I tend to get the worst thought of me

what they fail to realise is that I'm a fun-lovin' criminal - so give it up punks

That's not what I meant, I just meant that maybe those you think are wannabes aren't, and you just think they are, because they wear hoodies which you associate with criminals, and therefor think that those that wear them are wannabes, which implies that they want to be or want to be like something, in this case criminals?

Äsh, lets just drop it. I didn't mean any offence or anything.

No. I'm not referring to the wannabes as the criminals. Not everyone who wears hoodies are criminals, but many criminals wear hoodies. This is functional for them, because it obscures the features. I can find and link to a few articles that talk about this phenomenon if you'd like.

Is it maybe that these wannabes that you call them are just regular people that you presume as wannabe criminals because you associate the hoodies with that sort of thing?

Nah, I meant the look, like Eminem in that movie... a lot of criminals wear them, especially gangers and wanna-bes in my area. Then again, I don't get out a whole lot and I don't hang around places where younger guys frequent, so I can't say with certainty what modern fashion is like. I can say with certainty that when I was in high school I don't recall anyone wearing them. Then again, that was 14 years ago.

I mean like this.

and this.

Even a casual browsing online comes up that many people associate hoodies with criminals, since a lot of criminals this day and age wear them (since they conceal your features when the hood is up). It's odd, but I haven't seen many people wear them who didn't look like they were or were emulating "gangstas" (outside of perhaps joggers). The articles I read did say they are especially fashionable in Southern California... maybe it is just a regional thing.

Kids in the MU just wear regular stuff, kids in the real world wear Captain America stuff. If you look in USM whenever Peter is at school, kids have Old Navy and Ozzy Osbourne stuff on.

I guess it's something localized in your area. Everyone wears hoodies in my area and it's freaking hot here. You'd think the added warmth would be nice in WA

Lets make sure we have the same definition of hood yas you do Punstarr I mean a hooded sweat shirt.

And as far as noral kids wearing them I see it constantly around here and its nothing out of the ordinary. You can walk into GAP Tommy or any other store and pcik them up and Hot Topic and Journeys have them in all sizes.

I work retail and our store also carries hoodies for kids!

I'm serious. I've never seen a kid wear a hoodie who wasn't a ganger (wannabe). I certainly never wore clothes like that when I was a kid. Is this a phenomenon that just doesn't exist in my area but is widespread everywhere else?

even in the marvel universe kids would still be the same as normal kids so, band hoodies or skate hoodies hell even make up a logo or something

If I was a troubled teen - punisher hoody with lots a pockets
If I was a mutant teen - blue x hoodie
I I was a regular kid - Captain america hoodie

But these companys making the hoodies can find them selves in court
Punisher yelling out : TRADEMARK INFRIDGMENT !

so I would say depending on the personallity of the kid, his heros would be on his hoodie.

hope that helps

Actually, and I know I'm prob too old for a hoodie, but I've got one in my closet from when the punisher movie released.

I love it, its simple black with the white skull splashed on it.

I think that would be cool.

this is what the symbol looks like on my jacket:

I recommend a blue hoody with either the X-Men logo (The "X in a circle"-one) or Spider-Man's face on. It's the kind of thing you see in Marvel comics once in a while, plus, red on blue looks good. But for sure one with some superhero logo or face on it. Hulk would be cool too. Or The Thing - He's popular with the kiddies in the Marvel Universe!

Kids wear hoodies? I thought that was just kind of a gang banger thing.
