What kind of flames do you guys prefer?

I'm about to make another Human Torch figure, but I can't decide how I should do the flames. Should I use a hot glue gun and paint them leaving it semi-transparent, or sculpt it the old fashion way and color it solid?

That is definitely a personal preference. I could go either way on it. Depends also how confident you are in your sculpting and paint.
