Asian Skin tone

Posted in Custom Workstation

Does anyone know a good mixture ratio for an asian person's skin tone, using the 3 flesh color paints made by Model Master?

Ah, well, just to make it easier, I'll just say I want a recipe for a skin tone close to that of Ken Watanabe.

Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan are Chinese. I suspect Jet Li is as well.

Yeah, but I mostly mean something in that general area of skin tones, so that when you see his skin, you can tell that they are of either Japanese or Chinese ancestry(I don't specifically know what those 3 people exactly are though).

Jackie Chan's always been darker than Bruce Lee

Jet Li and Bruce have the same skin tone

I need to do some experimenting for the flesh of my Shang Chi custom. Vallejo and Citadel both have Bronze Flesh but they look a little too bronze.. maybe drop of Elf Flesh would tone it down a bit.

ohh, then lets see. I'd use a mix of black and orange paint ot make brown. Well it actually depends on how much of black. But anyways get a brown color and then mix a bit of white to get the tone. But I believe there is a testors paint kit for like $3-4 at Walmart. It comes with somekind of skin color that looks Asian.

Well, I'll further define what I mean.
Not asian as in the skin color of anime characters, because for some reason, most anime characters appear to be white.
Plus I don't think they have given what I'm going for a color designation, like white=european, black=african, etc. Sorry if any of that sentence sounded politically incorrect.

I'd say a skin tone something like that of Ken Watanabe, Bruce Lee, or Jackie Chan.

Now I feel like going on a rant about how the term African-American is less politically correct than the term black.

Technically, India is an Asian country... so's Russia.

now that I think of it, it could be judgemental on one's race color becasue they are different regions of Asia where color can be darker or lighter. But now, we don't want to get in a political discussion when we are talking about toys

but art is not about political correctness!

I agree about elf flesh but I'd add small amounts of orange yellow and brown with the emphasis on yellow

all depends who you want to make khan

Some Asians are darker skinned than others

Where do you live? I bought mine at my local game store... if nothing else you can order it online.

There's a set on Ebay for $175... a great price.

I don't know if any place here carries other stuff like Vallejo though. Hobby Lobby only has Model Master for acryl and I'm not sure about this other small hobby shop we have, I'll have to check there sometime.

I know Elf Flesh from Vallejo Game Color is a pretty good Asian color, but I'm not familiar at all with Model Master.
