Dealing with unhappy Ebay customers

Posted in Custom Workstation

So I get this message today from the guy who bought my Jim Lee Rogue. It said:

"hI, THIS ROGUE WAS A LITTLE SHABBY AND ALL THE PAINT IS CRUMBLING OFF AND WE WILL NOT USE YOUR SITE AGAIN."

I suspect he's full of it and just wants me to give him his money back while keeping the figure. He hasn't left any feedback yet, but how on Earth do you deal with this stuff? I coated the thing in Vallejo Game Color varnish (several coats), so I have a hard time believing the paint is crumbling off.

He saw the pictures of the figure... when I shipped it the figure was absolutely fine. If he didn't like the figure, he shouldn't have freaking bid.

man this is tough to hear. It scares me from posting anything on Ebay.
People need to understand our work isn't invincible !
I am sure your rogue didn't crumble, the guy got pissed he scratched it up with his razor sharp nails thats all.
I am so pissed that my paints scratch off that I almost krazyglue the whole figure. So I don't know what to recommend punstar

I agree wholeheartedly! If he's gonna lobby a complaint, make sure you have photo references showing exactly what condition the custom is in. Then save an image with the before shipping figure and the after picture.

You could ask the buyer to take a pic of it with the paint crumbling. If its true then he will show u if not he'll prob say that he aint got a camra.

yeah you really can't please everyone. I agree, make sure to write in your auction about paint rub. Also make sur eyour pics are as clear as possible. And finally a lot of people don't know what customs are exactly so be clear that this figure is one of a kind custom hand painted figure.

Lol, did you put "THIS IS A CUSTOM. EXCESSIVE POSING WILL CAUSE PAINT TO CRUMBLE" in your auction? I'm planning on putting "figure may EXPLODE if posed excessively!" and then put a firecracker in the figure
