Custom WorkstationI'm looking to spruce up my ML Spider-Woman. I had good luck on my Wasp (meaning her body no longer looks like a 12 year-old girl) and so Spider-Woman is next. First things first: I need to get rid of those enormous hands. I have a set of Wasp arms, and I tried to pop the pins out of the wrist last night to no avail. It just wasn't working for me. I heated it up with a hair dryer to the point that it was hot to touch, but that pin wouldn't budge. My tool was swimming around the inside of the wrist, but that's it. I'm clearly doing something wrong.
Given that, I'm thinking it might be easier to take off the Spider-Woman arms at the bicep and swap the whole arm out instead. I was thinking of repainting most of the figure anyway, so it wouldn't be that much more work paint wise (provided I get foundation paint to go over the black, that is). Does that sound about right, or am I screwing up a blatantly easy process in this whole wrist pin popping adventure?

Please wait...

Action Figure on eBay
Game on!
What you have to do is heat the area until it's very flexible, then you can use your fingers to pry at one of the "flaps" to get one end of the rod out of there. You're not pushing on the rod at all, you're pulling on a part of the plastic so that an end of the rods pops out. You don't have to remove the rod completely, it's actually easier if you leave the other end inside the hole. Now slip-out the hand and slip-in the new hands. Then heat it up again if you have to and pop the free rod-end back into the plastic.
Found it!
There's no need to worry about tearing anything, if it's flexible enough then the rod-head should pop-out easily.
Okay, I found the movie maker, let me get some lights set-up and I'll see what I can do. I hate talking in videos, my voice su'cks, lol
Uuuuuh, I guess I can make a video. Do you folks know of any free video editing software I can use?
