SAFETY MEASURES FOR CUSTOMIZERS

Posted in Custom Workstation

I’ve talk to my boss about the dangers of the things we do/use for customizing (coz one of his hobbies is painting models) and he told me a lot of things. I’d like to share what he told me.

- the things we use (epoxy putty, sealants, paints, superglue etc. / hobby products) are considered Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) which is dangerous to our health.

Safety measures
- wear gloves when working (latex gloves-I prefer for sculpting) (gloves for painting)
- wear gas mask when using VOC’s
- as much as possible avoid skin contact when using VOC’s
- use disposable face mask / gas mask (filter the small particles that we may inhale and get stuck in our lungs) & safety goggles (eye protection) (for sanding and dremel tool)
- working area should be well ventilated
- proper storage of hobby products/tools
- remember we should be comfortable in the safety gears we wear when working
- most important ENJOY CUSTOMIZING

I wish to add more but I think this will enough for the mean time. I never imagine how costly this hobby will be.
