For me, I don't care so much about the comic book (I probably would have the issue anyway), but it's the lack of paint on the Hasbro figs that pees me off.
A really good case in point is the fact that in order to get Annihilus, I have to own an X3 movie beast. It's a terrible figure with rubbish articulation and flat ,moulded hands that don't close. Compare it with, say, the Aoa Sabretooth form the Giant Man series...now THAT was a figure!
Plus, I live in the UK, so my Hasbro figures retail at start price of £12.99 (which translates to about $19 , I think...).
So you get an idea of why I am a bit put out having to buy an action figure of Vinnie Jones, Kelsey Grammer, or Famke Jansen to get Annihilus's wing...
I went to the store when Hasbro first started making them and was freaked out! Also, I don't really want movie tie-in toys in the lines(like the X3 stuff), don't they just normally make a separate line for them anyway? So far Toybiz was definatley better.
I don't mean to say Hasbro is terrible, just not up to par, not to mention I miss my comic book!
Hasbro have had years to make all kinds of toys - their motto is Poorer Product for a Greater Price. That's what Hasbro do. Almost everything they make suffers from lack of paint apps and relatively hefty price tags - especially if you live in Europe.
As of right now Toybiz holds the crown. I prefer the paint aps and packaging more than what Hasbro has been putting out. It's possible the big H may get better but for some reason except for a few characters the new stuff just does not have the same feel.
It's really bad because a 6000% increase in stocks rarely happens. It was literally a once in a lifetime opportunity that I warned them about but they just disregarded me as though I didn't know what I was talking about.
You wanna hear something messed up? I was like 16 or so when Marvel filed Chapter 11... I had always wanted Marvel stock because well, I'm a fan, and so I payed attention to the prices. Well I saw the stock had plummeted to 50 cents a share and I about tripped over myself to run to my folks, trying in vain to convince them they needed to buy as many of those stocks as they could. No way was a giant like Marvel actually going to go under. Nonono, they said, it'd be stupid to invest in something like that. I felt really brushed off that they wouldn't even listen to me. I'm still a bit hurt to this day... now I see that Marvel stock is around $30 a share. Grrrrrr that's a 6000% increase! If they'd invested $100,000 into it, they'd have 6 million bucks! And they had the cash if they really wanted to. Oh it still stings to this day.

Whoa whoa whoa, we're getting way off-topic here!
...so was she hot?
"It's better than spending them on hookers and/or drugs"
Nope. Not gonna say anything
Eh? Whoa...
You're making this up, right?
Aren't you?
Hmmmm maybe not... well if so, I have to say... NICE!
(I wasn't sure how clear that was, or whether it could have been taken wrong)
"It's better than spending them on hookers and/or drugs"
you moms right homie why pay for hookers, when if you just apply yourself you just might get it for free
Customizer - "Hey baby, look at this toy I made for you."
"Lady" - "Oh you're so hot!" POUNCE
At least that's what I hear, I don't know about ya'll.

The Hasbros are fine, it's just too bad they all need a paint-job. Paying 12 bucks to fix a figure is annoying.

"Slapstick buddy, you know you have a responsibility to fight villains now"
"Awww do I have to? Couldn't I just play cruel tricks on em?"

Hasbro on the MLs have the finger where the sun don't shine and are then flipping us the bird with it as collectors
A few rare figures done well - Toybiz has the better track record
But we'll see what the fture holds
