Is it possible to add rib articulation?

Posted in Custom Workstation

To a figure that doesn't have it? I'm trying to think of a way to add that to my movie daredevil...

I think it may be possible, albeit work intensive.

Sounds like it would work. I'll try that. I was actually talking with my friend Nathan (AKA PureToreador on here) about that and said if one of us could give the movie Daredevil figure rib articulation we'd be Gods.

Just drill a small hole all the way through, then slide a toothpick in there or whatever else you want to use that will fit snugly.

Yeah, that was my idea. If it's hollow, put some sculpt in it and put a bar through it.

I hope it's strong enough that it won't be flimsy, yet still flexible enough that it can be posed easily.

maybe cut it like DOc said. and if it's a hollowish body fill it with a sculpt and then when it's cured drill a whole and put a bar in the middle.

It should work the same with only one body, all you're going to do is cut an upside-down "U" or "Omega" shaped design straight through the figure (see the shape where the pink and black touch?), which is a lot harder than it sounds xP

I am planning to buy another one, so I can experiment on it.

But that's two different bodies, Doc. crimsonvampyre was asking about doing it to a single body.

Though I guess you could buy two DD movie figures and cut one for the top, one for the bottom. Possibly.

How did you do that one? There should be a tutorial for that.

Yes it's possible, and kinda easy to do, but if the upper-body is hollow then it's going to be a pain in the bum

Wouldn't work, really. Body is hollow inside so there's no place for articulation to actually go.
