I was hoping someone out there could create or inform me of a tutorial to repair bad hinge joints. I've purchased a number of figures that when opened have had bad hinge joints. I have a problem with my double hinged joints. The "pin" connecting the joint does not go through all three "layers" making the joint almost inoperable. I was hoping to find some help on this issue.
Thanks!
Thank you for all the help. I have reapired the joint on Cannonball but Psylock is giving me a little bit of trouble but I think I'll get it fixed. Thanks again for the tips.
Thanks for the tips, however, the pin is through the inner piece of arm the inner part of the joint but the pin does not go through the outer arm on both my Cannonball and Psylocke figures. The pin also seems too short to go through the extra flap of joint. How can I correct this?
I had something like that happen to me a couple months back. I don't exactly remeber how to do it, but I did use pliers and a pushed the joint all the way through, and if the sides are even and the pin is long enoguh, I used a clmap on the other figure. Another idea that jsut came up is to boil and heat the joints and puch it in. I think that would be easier.
But on the off-chance that you did get a short-rod, just shave a little plastic off the appropriate areas and try it again.
Just heat the area with some hot water so the plastic gets flexible and pop the rod all the way through.
