Card lock waht the f does that mean?............................oh.
Alright so as you cen see, my memory card was "locked" and it wasn't until I got home and loked in the instructions that I figureed out what it meant. Boy do I feel dumb. So no pictures today Sorry guys....
But the re-cap the second day at the con, for those of you that are living vicariously though this post here's the scoop:
Got their early in the morning to wait in line, finally got through after 2 and half hours (ick) and ran over to the Hasbro Booth only to discover that they had already given away all of the tickets for the day. Getting a ticket only entitles you to stand in line, not actually buy a figure. Nuts to that I said, and started asking people in line if they A. were already getting three stan lees(the limit person) and B. if they wanted to make 5 bucks.
As luck would have it there are some decent people left in the world, and I managed to score 2 at 20 a piece. This was after repeated people were extra rude about saying no.
*bonus story!* As I was waiting for the saint of a fellow to purchase my Stan, who walks by me? None other than Peter Mayhew! Got to shake his hand before ever one recognized and swarmed him. Whatta guy.
So after I got my stan's I hoofed it around the rest of the exhibit hall. The toy selection was alright....somethings were waaaaaayyyyyyy over priced. For example: War Machine V Manderin had a sticker price of 75 bucks!!! Legendary comicbook heros were going for 20-25 per fig.
So needless to say, I didn't do much toy shopping. I did however buy some orginal artwork from some artists and got a bunch of autographs. From whom you ask? Lou Ferigno, Garret Wang (Ensign Kim) Jon DeLancie (Q) Tony Todd(Candyman) and Ken Foree from dawn of the dead.
I was there half of Friday and all of Saturday. Weather was fantastic! 75 degrees in July! In Florida that is freaking winter!
I was in Phoenix AZ on Wed. and Thurs - visited the McFarlane store - wasn't as big as I thought it would be - the guys working there were cool - said that Fri and Sat were sold out for the Con.
I took a bunch of pics at the Hasbro booth - gotta photoshop 'em so I can post them - saw some cool stuff slated for the future - the Doc Doom and Namor from the new FF wave looked awesome - way tougher than the TB versions, especially the Doom. Didn't have the Hulk wave displayed, the Spider-Man Movie wave looked okay - didn't thrill me. They're putting out a Black Queen exclusive that looks very good and a couple of 2 pack exclusives; one with Cannonball & Domino and one with Cable & ? (can't remember the 2nd character in that pack). I can't remember if they were slated for Wal Mart or TRU.
Mattel had some cool DCSH prototypes on display that made me happy - one of Orion from the New Gods and one of The Demon - Etrigan. Both were dead on. The Mattel people in the booth didn't know when they might be on the market.
lol it was a bunch of tweenies with acne in cosplay. and they definetly crowded around enough to block the already small alsies, thus creating a bigger scene because now everyone is like "what's the hold up?" and the only thing they can see is chewies head, about nine feet over the rest of our heads, standing out like the space needle.
yeah I met him at Celebration 2 and he was just leaning on a table in the hall with no one around him, . I mean he is not hard to spot that table was on the wall and his feet were on the other wall.
