Advice For My First Custom?

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hey guys, I'm about to start my first custom figure, so I've decided to attempt to make myself!

Any ideas which existing figure head I could use as a template for me?

This forum won't let me attach a picture of myself despite offering that feature to me so I'll have to describe myself.
I am a caucasian male and have shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes.

I appreciate any help. Thanks

marvel legends biker wolverine has jeans and a jacket you could just remove the claws(unless you have claws) because long shot has only 4 fingers you 'll want to replace the hands

I shall look into it, good thinking dude. I couln't bring myself to dismember any of my
currently owned marvel legends figures simply due to the length of time I've had them.
gonna have to buy some new ones. anybody have any suggestions for the jacket jeans combo?
I'm not going to make the me just yet I'll make a few easy ones first but fot the long term. I'd
also prefer the jacket to be open, showing the t shirt underneath.

I found a Metal Gear Solid figure of raiden which looks very similar to me. now I just need a jacketed torso and jeans etc. You are right though. I'll try some easier ones first before I melt a £10 figure. thanks guys!

Actually, my tip for starting out would be to do some fairly easy customs first. That is unless you're already a very accomplished model painter and / or sculptor.

If you're not then def read the beginner customizer tutorials. Try just some simple repaints first, boil and pop a couple figures, sculpt a belt, etc. Easy stuff.

Welcome aboard!

Oh I get it. Fair Enough I went for a look around my local shopping center today
but there is currently a serious lack of figures available. I'm going to have to search ebay or
go to Liverpool city center. I live in wallasey which is near there. My only worry is that the decent figures
which would be ideal are quite pricey and I wouldn't want to mess it up!

You need a few more posts before you can post pictures (maybe like 20?), here's the FAQ we ask everyone to read when they sign up: http://www.figurerealm.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4089

You could use either a WWE/TNA wrestler head like Edge, Zack Ryder/Curt hawkins, James Storm....someone from the company with shoulder length blonde hair.

I was jokin around with one of my buddies thinking the same thing, makin myself. I said maybe I should get a Marvel Icons Hulk, sand down the hair so its bald and apoxy a long goatee, paint it flesh tone and make the pants ripped camo style.

But yeah, I would suggest ebay for lots of WWE/TNA figures, you might be able to find something good on there, ya know?

I'm a noob at this too but hey good luck!
