Glue Stick creations

Custom WorkstationI searched the forums for help on this. I bought a bunch of color glue sticks to tinker with. I want to create some new ideas I had for awhile now. I like what Jin does & I like to do some stuff using glue sticks. He does player flames which look amazing. Now what does he do to make them like this? Does he just slop on glue on something then cut/buff out to the shape he wants?
I just want to do some diorama stuff for my customs.

Please wait...

Action Figure on eBay
The project I am doing with a Regular ODST from halo is filling a gap from the hand to the wrist. I will have to do some random stuff around the figure so it does not look off.
I figured I could super glue the heated glue to the figure once it hardens.
I love the full body suit idea I might have to do that down the road.
Thanks for the tips
Now I just need to find some nice designs to use for that. I wanted to create something new but the mold thing will come in handy for other stuff.
Thanks for the glass/plate idea I never thought about that. I am just curious if there is a more better way to mold it. Jin has them looking really nice like he used a mold to do them. They just look to perfect to be molded by hand. If he did he must of used some method to clean it up.
If so, just melt them to whatever shape you want. They're just called glue sticks but they don't bond very well, at least not in my experience. Spread the glue on some glass or a plate or whatever and shape it as you want, then let it harden and peel/scrape it off.
