D&D Figure lot WIP

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hi all.

I recently got a commission job to work on a few D&D guys from both the old LJN line as well as the show.

I'll be working on these slowly but surely over the coming months and promised the customer I'd keep him updated.

Figuring, some on the realm may be interested in the project I though it would be fun to post a running WIP thread.

I've already finished Kelek, and will put some pics of him here, and I'm working on Grimsword now.

Heeeeeeeeeeeere's Kelek:

And another shot of him

Hey, I finally got snaps of the WIP stuff & the recolor you requested.

First up is Mettaflame's new color scheme:

Then his new hairdoo:

And the shield progress (and look who's holding the shield!):

Its Peralay! I finally found a great donor body!!!
I HATED the original body I had (just the hobbit) but this new form has wicked cool armor!!

And a nice scale comparison pic:

And last but not least, I think I have a donor for Mandoom! (in with the others for size comparison):

Drex is basically complete. Here are the final WIP shots.

Drex with Shield

Close up of shield, it still needs to be sealed & the leather straps put on so he can hold it:

And some detail on the chest sculpt.
Man, I just noticed, his skin tone has a lot more detail than the flash shows.
Oh well, they can fix it in post:

Thanks!

Needle, thread & a trip to the fabric store
I figured sewing can't be too hard. At least not for the stuff I'm doing.
I'm trying to use mixed materials in all the D&D figs where possible.

Very nice!

I have to ask though, where did you get the robe for Kelek?

Grimsword is complete!

Drex is progressing well. He still needs his chest sculpt & gauntlets:

And his shield:

It's a big sucker, check out the scale!:

More updates.

All nice & shiny as requested, and sporting a scabbard & sword, Grimsword is basically complete:

Sadly his shield is not. But it is shaping up well:

Some sculpt work on Drex. When combined with some parts from above, he is further along:

And a quick look at Mercion. I need to get some cloak fabric for her and Runglerun:

And a bit of a sculpted head, I wonder who this could be?

Grimsword update.

Shield about 70%

Grimsword about 95%. Need to seal & attach the knee pads:

And a look at Drex just started:

Obviously he needs lots of sculpt and the shield & shoulder pads are temporary

Ref image of Drex:

Wrestler dudes make great barbarians.

And, as promised the WIP pics for Grimsword.

Main look:

Shield design:

Knee pads:

Snake sash detail:

... and YES he does retain waist articulation, but only in 1 direction. The upper & lower parts of the snake do rub in the other direction.
He did loose his ab joint, but that was expected.
