Leg Peg Fix

Posted in Custom Workstation

On a regular ML-style leg ball joint peg, how do you fix the peg when the entire peg came off of the joint, as in the joint attached to the leg is just the disc and the two parts of the ball on the sides of the disc. It's a NECA TMNT figure to be specific.

Crack him open and replace the joint with an old fodder figure. I might have an old leg joint lying around here some where.

That wouldn't work, because the peg going into the pelvis is on the disc, and if you have both the pegs on the disc, then the "side-to-side" articulation would be lost.

Bump/Updated with pics.

The hole is from getting the peg out of the peg hole in the leg.

I could, but I don't have batteries for my camera right now.

Look at the ball joints at the hips of an ML figure like Iron Fist, Iceman, etc. There's the disc, which has a peg going into the pelvis. On the 2 sides of the disc, there is a piece that makes the most of the ball shape of the joint, this piece has the peg going into the leg on it. The peg was completely torn off of the ball joint so that the piece on the sides of the disc are not connected at all and the only place to drill a hole into is the disc, and making a peg come from the disc would give it 0 "side to side" articulation.

That's a Sota Street Fighter figure with the 2 sides of the outside completely attached on one side, and with some of the peg remaining on the ball joint. The joint that I am repairing is one where the 2 sides are only connected by the peg and the peg completely ripped off and is in the leg, so there's nowhere to screw a screw into on the ball joint.
