Well the new girl I'm talking with, I guess we're a couple at this point, asked me to teach her how to customize figures. I wanted to see how you guys think I should go about starting her off. I figured start her with simple stuff like parts swapping and such. I want to try and convert the tutorials off here into PDF files and email them to her (she's in Canada).
Thats simple, show her you aren't a creepy perv (as far as I know, j/k) and offer to send it somewhere else, a po box, a friends, something like that. Anyway, that would be an easy way to establish whether or not she wanted to give you her addy. "hey baby, I got something to send you, but I don't want you to feel uncomfortable about giving me your address, so is there anywhere else I can send it?" I'd wait until she has decided to customize, of course. Becoming natural to you? sounds like trial and error wins again, better than school training!!!
lol. Once she trusts me enough to give me her addi I will send her a set and I should have plenty of figures to spare soon. She's still thinking about it. I'm just glad she's interested in it. It's funny I was so bad at 3d art in art school but the sculpting is starting to become natural to me.
Hello there, back to your original problem(?) First of all, you should be a sweetheart, and send her a basic customizing set. If she is the type of girl that likes a challenge, you should send her a couple old figures and give her a challenge and tell her to make any character she wants out of the stuff you sent her. Of course, offering yourself available for questions. Tutorials are awesome and all, but the best teacher is trial and error, I still suggest you send her some links. Tell her to use the leftovers to practice painting on and such. you're a lucky man, I wish my lady was into customizing. she doesn't have anything against it and she is super supportive, but she just doesn't want to do it, and she calls herself a graduate with a bachelors degree of fine arts. and she's a damn tough critic, if she doesn't like it, or think it's good enough, I don't post it.
She's thinking about it. I wanted to see if she even liked the basics of customizing first. I was going to send her to our site to give her a taste of things but I lost the link x.x
I'm guessing, if she took the time...make her sign up on here. There are also tons of tutorials on the site. Maybe if you sent her links of them to her...
