I want to do 6-8 in figures with decent movement....are there any suggestions on what my best bet is? please keep in mind im in my 30s so im not really familiar with all of the new series so be easy on me! thanks
The best base figure depends on what type of figures you're trying to create.
For real-world people, I find using Movie Master Dark Knight "Joker Goon" figures really useful. They're not super-muscled, and are are made with a dark-blue plastic.
For most superheroes, the old standby is the Marvel Legends "Bullseye" figure. Great articulation, and perfectly in scale. Also, easy to switch out the hands and boots on.
The newer DC Universe series equivlant of Bullseye is the "Black Manta" figure. It's a basic matte finish, black suited superhero.
Wrestling figures are now more plentiful than Marvel Legends, so I've noticed a lot more of them being used as base figure here at Figure Realm.
The best thing to do is take a walk through your local Walmart and see what's available, then go from there. You won't find any Bullseyes or Black Mantas usually, but that's what comic stores and eBay is for. ^_^
If you want them to be 6 inch, I'd go marvel legends, if you want them bigger 9 inches I'd use the WWE deluxe aggression figures. The Marvel ones are generally cheaper than WWE and they do have slightly better articulation than WWE but I find the WWE are the best for what I do, hope this helps
