Anyone collect Warhammer 40K Mini's?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I myself have only just gotten started in the realm of 40K, Tau specifically, and was wondering if anyone else here plays/collects the game/miniatures.

I know they would be, but the Chaos is just that. Chaos, evil, disorder and endless suffering. The Emporer needs to be killed, but what about afterword? The Chaos forces would be forced, or urged by their outworldly lords to kill, destroy, anything to feed It. The most you could hope for is that they would after the Emporer was .

The whole point is that the Emperor is getting weaker and that his essence will eventually be returned into another body since his soul is stretched so thin and imprinted in so many people. They always say in the lore that those in the know(not everyone knows about Emps ways)are just waiting for the new reincarnation of the Emperor.

Ever considered that the human factions would be better off if the Emporer died?

I never felt any connection with the Imperium really. Too...bleak. At least the Tau are fighting for peace and not on a genocidle quest against all alien species and don't sacrifice thousands of people to their emporer daily. That's one rreason why I play my Space Marines as a knightly order more or less. The Imperium uses the Emporer as a puppet so they can stay in power, that's why I started 2-3 Chaos armies. All they really want to do is pull the plug on the Emporer's life support so he can finally die.

The Chaos will eventually, even if they have goals that are benifital to the human race and Galaxy in general, over come its followers and change them into creatures that are perhaps, more vile than the Necrons.

I do not think the Emporer has any truly devine conection. He is merely an incredible power pycher with delusions of grandure a genocidle hatred of all not Human. He has crafted the whole human race into a facsit soceity, afraid of doing anything "blaspymis" which is what ever the Inquisitors say is. The human race has not evolved, but devolved into a superstisous dictatorship ripe with fear, distrust, paranoia and xenophobia.

Over all, I think the Eldar are the most noble race, trying to merly survive and the same time, push back the deamons and chaos as they once did. The Tau I favor because of their rich culture and desire to expand their scientific knowledge and that of other species. Between the two, the Tau will survive while the Eldar fade into the twilight. But, with the constent threat of the Necrons, Tyranids and the occasinal Ork onsluaght, mayhaps, none shall survive to see the 42 millenium...

Like I tell my housemate - it's your own fault for choosing Imperial Guard...

Just came across this thread, and it's good to see other 40kers...

I play and have played:
Space Marines, Dark Angels, Iron Warriors, Khorne Berserkers, Orks, and started on Imperial Guard and another Space Marine Army.

My only problem is finding the time to sit and paint all of my minis... (I'm sort of a perfectionist when it comes to painting those and it's really a bother. )

I play Tau.

Best tip is to pick them up cheap on Ebay, strip the paint off and then repaint to your own colour scheme.

yeah it is expensive.

I got lucky and found too many good deals on tyranids and now I'm trying to liquidate them. At one point I had 10-12,000 pts of Tyranids, was fast tracking ot build the largest bug army ever.

Then I got lazy, a lot of stuff to put together.

I've got like 200 genestealers extra sadly.

Heh, yeah at first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I remembered the Orks almost drunken slurred speach patterns. Funny thing, I was going to pick the Tyranids but I felt the Tau had a ceratin alur with their philosophy and were one of the more noble races in the 41 Century. I would have picked the Eldar but, to much finness even for me.

I have yet to play a game and just got my first few mini's coming in through the mail. Live WAY out of the way, so the closest large mall's and hobbyshops are in Monoro and Littlerock. Both long drives and gas prices are a little high for a trip just to pick up a few models!

My brother first got me interested a few months back and we are mostly waiting for our wallets to grow fat enough to afford everything. Freaken rule book is $58 after shipping! Already have a few paints and ordered the Tau Firewarrior paint set along with the Pathfinder Leader.

For the Greater Good!
