This makes me feel dumb. Actually, this makes me feel like a dumb perv, but I saw they were doing a line of Castlevania action figures, I pre-ordered them, got them, and loved them. However I remember reading in ToyFare the Succubus figure was going to have a removeable top ... it doesn't seem removeable, it seems lighlty glued on, or worse.
I should just set-up it up and be happy, but instead I'm here asking if anyone has a suggestion as to how I can get that li'l piece of plastic off w/out messin' up the figure.
I thought hair-dryer, maybe? I would appreciate suggestions, or to hear from someone whom has already regulated this problem (albeit a sad problem ;-) !!!
On a side bar, I'm glad this li'l question led me to this forum - I look forward to floating around here more!
All so simple! I work at a music store and use both alkeehall and nail polish remover to get glue off of instruments all the time; ya think I would have connected the two? Of course its a li'l different when action figure mammalian protuberances are involved. Well, nail polish and a guitar polishing cloth did the deed, and I now have a wonderfull, topless Succubuss ... much to my wife's shagrin. And I have y'all to thank for that ... so thanks! Look forward to checking back on other exciting topics soon! Same action figure time, same action figure URL.
I'm not sure what kind of glue they use...if it's cheap glue then heating and rubbing it off should work, but if it's superglue then you're going to have to scrape it.
Sho'nuff, I used the hair dryer as reccomended and popped that top right off! Seems they wisely only glued the sides; so once I used a li'l knife to inch up the one side it peeled off like ... well, like hot, soft plastic, I guess.
And she does indeed have amazing nipples.
As amazing as plastic nipples can get, anyways ;-)
One last question, as I'm new to this kinda stuff - usually just open my figures, display um all badass and dust as needed. When I first got the top off I noticed the nipples. Then the tattoos around her nipples. Then realized the tattoos were actually glue reminants. Any suggestions how to get that off? I was first gonna just heat the funk with the hair dryer and scrape it off, but then thought that might scratch it. So I thought a Q-tip maybe? But then I figured since y'all helped me last time, better push my luck and ask for more help before I scar an other-wise awesome fig'. Serisously, top to bottom, wing to wing, great figure.
The topless Succubus isn't a variant unfortunately but NECA new about the orognal Succubus was topless so they actually had a lighter glue used o that section. They for some reason couldn't get that to pass thru the goverment toyboards or something, I read an article on in Action Figure review magazine. I beleive that you will find her complete with nipples after you pop the top!
I think someone might have said sometime that the removable top was a variant. Either way, it doesn't matter, use the hairdryer and tell us what happens!
