Broken neck peg HELP!!

Posted in Custom Workstation

So I was trying to pull the head off of a ml falcon figure and the peg tore off inside the head. I don't have a dremel though, any ideas on how to get the peg out? I need the head for a custom Im working on. Just my luck I finally get motivated to work on a custom I've been putting off for months and this happens lol

Much appreciated friends. I've pretty much been trying the whole heat it til you can't hold it thing lol. Im hoping that will work cuz I don't want to risk damaging the head with green skin's method. But at least I can use that as a back up plan. Keep em coming guys maybe we can help other people with similar issues. kinda turn this into a thread about fixing different problems that arent as common as the ones already covered in the tutorials

I did this once also. I got the peg out by heating the thing up with a hair dryer till it was hot unof to burn youre finger tips if you didn't wear glove. Then I toolk one of the smallest blades on my pocket nife and gouged it out. I cut myself multiple times well doing this so it might not be the best method but it worked out well and I ended up making the peg into a grenade for another custom LOL.

cool, let me know how it works. May not be the best method, just the one that I use. Be sure to be careful.

Yea each tme I work on a new project my desire for a dremel just grows more and more. I always end up breaking something in a way thats not covered in any of the tutorials on here lol. Ill have to see if your exacto method will work. I've been trying to blast the head with some heat n use a flathead screwdriver to get it out but to no avail. This has happened to me before but it was an old wrestling figure and it was much larger so I kinda just gouged out the broken peg with a knife. the problem with that here, even though I've been trying for the past two days, is that the hole is just too small to get the knife in so my options are limited. In any case I'll have to try your method Green Skin, thanks, If you or anyone else thinks of any other options though please don't hesitate to add your input. Please and thanks

Thats happened to me tons of times. A dremel is the easiest way, but I have another. Take a sharp razor or xacto and place a cut in the neck hole that goes through the back of the head. Easiest way is to hold the head upside down and use the blade in a paper cutter like motion. Make sure the cut is as clean as possible. Now get a flat head screw driver that has a pretty slim tip, put that into the cut and press the cut open. This should open the neck hole enough to grab the broken peg out. After words apply some superglue to the cut you made in the head and carefully press the cut closed. Just make sure you don't use too much glue, and line up the cut as best you can.

It's late so hopefully that made sense.
