Hair removal

Posted in Custom Workstation

Anyone have an easy way to remove hair from a figure's head so they're bald? I'd do the dremel but then you have it pretty uneven and it rips up the plastic.

Well they don't have to be perfectly smooth on these since they're for necromorphs and the lumpy texture is more interesting.

I dremmel it off with a grinding bit instead of a sanding bit because it doesn't rip up the plastick. Then I sand and file by hand a bit and use a litle bit of schulpt to smooth it out.

Yeah I was lucky and a few had the hair in pieces. I'll just have to be very careful and take down the worst of the hair with the dremel and do the last fine sanding with paper.

depends on the hair. If its sculpted on, the dremel is pretty much your only choice, unless you're totally BA and want to use regular sand paper.

If the hair is a seperate piece though, you can heat it up and pull it off usually. Just go slowly and try not to rip anything. Of course this leaves a hole in the figures now oddly shaped head, but thats what sculpt is for.
