DCUC Rules! DCUC 6 Pg 9!

Marvel Legends is dead to me.

here's the one of the best reasons to dig on the new DCUC figures >>> they can battle your Hydra thugs and not be dwarfed by them.

Finally finished collecting series10. I picked up Beast Boy and Man Bat at the Wal-Mart in Grapevine, TX. I got the last Man Bat, but there was still one more Beast Boy. I already had the Comicon exclusive white Man Bat, but this brown one is waaaaaay cooler. The wings are constructed of a more rigid plastic than the SCC version and the membranous wing parts are opaque, so it looks super-cool when light shows glowing through from behind. There seemed to be plenty of the rest of the series left at Wal-Mart, but it appears that Man Bat and Beast Boy have either been short packed or in a later shipment. Imperiex looks pretty cool fully assembled, but the head joint was not engineered very well and is very loose, so much so that the head falls off very easilly. The joints on this BAF generally are either too tight or too loose, the right leg tends to pop off easilly as well. Everyone seems to really want the Joker more than any of the other figures, but I really think he will be easy to find based on the number of them that I have seen. Happy Hunting!

Found some of these yesterday in Texas...that is I found a whole lot of about half the series. Plenty of Batmans, Jokers, Powergirls...but I only found one Forager and none of the rest. I'm afraid that about half of this might be short packed.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, someone posted this link in the Wave 10 thread @ theFwoosh:
Pendragon got a list of which wal-marts are getting DCUC Wave 10:

Thanks to this, I was able to get a complete set(minus Batman bc I didn't want him) tonight.

Saw some of these today at a local comic shop...for 24.95? Can you say PRICE GOUGING? They didn't have Green Arrow or Wildcat, but pretty much everything else. Well, I didn't have much cash, but I picked up the Black Canary as I figure since it is a female, it will be one of the harder ones to find. I was kind of disappointed to find that the leg/hip joints did not have the range of motion that other DCUC female figures have, this is probably due to the fishnet stocking feature and the production difficulty of achieving a full range of motion. The paint job on the hair was pretty miserable with dark brown lines streaking the canary yellow hair. The face was beautifully sculpted, but seemed very familiar, I swear, all of the DCUC females must come from the same gene pool. It looks like Mattel added extra articulation to the ankles (probably to make up for the lack of articulation on the leg/hip joint) Unfortunately, the extra articulation at the ankles only makes the figure more unstable and difficult to keep standing for display purposes. Although the head and neck joint is articulated, it is near impossible to turn or rotate the head without taking a chance of breaking the joint. When is Mattel gonna learn to use softer plastic or rubber for long tresses? One more thing, Black Canary suffers the "Barbie" syndrome in that she can't hold or grab anything, I wish they would not have gone with closed fists...by the way, doesn't she usually wear gloves? On another note, there is some possibility for some pretty good custom fodder with this figure.

Overall, I give this figure 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

I actually saw the regeneration suit superman at walmart, or one like him, but the paint was messy so I didn't get him. I was gonna customize him anyhow but if anyone's gonna mess up a paintjob it'll be me and not the factory lol

I seriously doubt they're from a 12-inch line, they just make them that big when sculpting because it's easier to add detail.

And yeah, seriously, WTF is up with people acting like animals over toys that they have to be smacking the display cases...

the only problem my Space Heroes 2 Pack had was that Starfire's left leg was slightly warped. heated and straightened and everything is fine. I haven't read any QC horror stories for the Matty Exclusive 2 Packs.

and now...

DCUC 6

or at least the 2 that I found at a Wal-Mart in Jax, FL this past weekend. my case from CSC should be here Wed and I will have them all then. couldn't help myself when I found these...

Regeneration Suit Superman

other than his biceps being swapped around he's in pretty good shape. no QC issues. put the biceps on right and he's good to go! what shall I make out of him?

Hawkman!!!

no way could I pass up my most anticipated DCUC figure!

the one problem with Hawky - his gripping hand is a little too big for his weapons. he'll hold them but you gotta do some fiddlin' to make it happen.

at least these are back on track to the quality we saw in DCUC 1 and 2.

the new MattyCollector DCUC Space Heroes 2 Pack!

Adam Strange is great!

very well sculpted, nice details, great paint apps. my only gripe is that his hand is a little too big to hold his gun. when he's in-package the gun is held in his hand by a clear rubberband. take it off and all of a sudden he doesn't hold his gun so well.

dcuc is one of the best ones out right now
I can't complain about them except for the fact I had to drop some glue in each leg socket on metallo
other than that the sculpts are magnificent
better than marvels and the paint jobs are nicer
the plastic is nicer
I wish I got into dc sized stuff a long time ago
I regret not picking up clayface when I say him years ago and so many others

GRARRRR... that jason rusch firestorm looks SICK!!! and I've been really wanting a black lightning since I first heard mattel were putting one out!!! DAMNIT... I JUST found wave 3, or, I should say, 10 GLs and one robin left, which I got, and was warped at the leg, and I can't even explain what his head looks like. it's as if a chunk of his forehead broke off, then was cheaply glued back on. WHAT IS WITH MY LUCK WITH THESE FIGURES???

DCUC 5
or as it's better known; the unevenly distributed, hard to find Wal-Mart Exclusive DCUC Wave

The Gang

once again I had to rely on other AF collectors to help me get this Wave as none of the 3 WMs in my town have gotten this Wave. luckily 2 good friends; Fleish and Plain_Sliced, helped me out.

I only had one DCUC 5 figure that had a major flaw; the 1st Black Lightning I got has his lower torso on backwards. oh well, he'll make good fodder.

Metallo

gotta love a C&C / BAF that can cavort like this...

he's not leaning against anything or being supported in anyway.

very cool C&C figure.

Atom

a lot of people on the boards have been down on this figure, saying he's bland. I dig him. Atom and Metallo are my 2 faves of this Wave. it seems like I'm very lucky as I've seen lots of posts from collectors about getting Atoms with wrong parts such as 2 of the same feet or biceps, broken legs, really bad paint apps. mine is pretty nice.

more to come...

it's been too long since this thread was updated with some pics!

unfortunately the TRU DCUC 2 Packs I've picked up have been cursed with defects. of the 4 I've bought here is what I have to show

Orion

I had to put the 2 Pk Orion's head on a DCUC 1 Orion's body in order to have a removable helmet Orion that wasn't warped. my Lightray from the New Gods 2 Pk that I kept has to have a new right leg attached.

GL Abin Sur

1st GL 2 Pk I bought I took back because both figures had multiple messed up joints. I took a chance on a 2nd GL 2 Pk and put Abin's head and arms on the Hal's body because HJ's bod had better paint apps and AS's bod had some gouges on his abs.

Batman Beyond *Unmasked*

my friend Paddy Fitz from over to the Fwoosh hooked me up with the KB Toys DCUC 4 Unmasked Batman Beyond variant as there are no KB Toys within 80 miles of me.

Firestorm *Jason*

I took a chance and ordered a Firestorm when TRU put a bunch of DCUC 2 up for sale in their web store figuring they had to be the shipping the DCUC 2.5 cases that came with the Jason Rausch Firestorm. I didn't really care about him at first but now that I got him I really dig him. his biceps were switched (I think all of the JR Firestorms shipped that way) but other than that he was free of major defects. switching the biceps around was pretty easy.

So, I'm new to the website but thought I'd chime in.

I am loving the DC Universe line and the build a figure motif makes them fun to collect.

I'm happy the line seems to be thriving as I was worried about it for awhile. I literally never say ANY Wave 2 figures locally. And the Ebay prices on Aquaman and Harley Quinn are insane.

But, I was finally able to pick up all of the Wave 3 figures at various Target stores. Then, last week I was lucky enough to walk into Toys R Us and pick up all 5 of the Wave 4 figures as well as the Artemis Wonder Woman Variant. The only downside was no Silver Captain Atom. Apparently the "normal" Silver Skinned version is the chase variant.

The Gold Skin Capt Atom is fine I suppose but the sculpt is pretty "generic guy" painted with Gold Skin and lots of red stripes. Ares is awesome - totally owns on the DC Direct version and I love the big ass sword. I currently have a Ares (DC) vs Ares (Marvel) face off on my shelf, and I'm loving it. Batman beyond is a cool figure, though I'm not attached to the character at all. Cyborg and Wonder Woman are my favorities of the line though. I really like having a well articulated Cyborg figure. Wonder Woman is excellent and the Artemis version looks ectremely good. The Despero build a figure is a little underwhelming, but it may again be a lack of affinity for the character for me. That and his articulation isn't great - he basically stands in one pose and if you try to change it around one of his legs pops off. Still, it was nice to be able to grab them all at once and not have to chase all over for them.

Now I'm hitting up the local Wal Marts searching for the Wal Mart Exclusive Wave 5 figures. So far no luck, but I know they are starting to get out because there are tons of Ebay auctions for them. With like 9 Wal Mart's within a 15 mile radius I should eventually be able to find them right? I'm especially looking forward to the Black Lightning figure as I keep passing on the DC Direct version as it just feels like something's off with it.

Geez, here all this time, I've been P. O.ed because I can't complete series 4. It must really suck to not have even seen any of series 1 yet. Sorry to all of you on the other side. Looks like I'll have to resort to the secondary market again. I did find Ares and Cyborg by chance one day, but that's been about a month ago and there has been no sign of any of the others from series 4 in my area. The good news is that I have been seeing some more of series 3 on store shelves, so perhaps the stock will continue to trickle out to retailers. Beware to all of you scalpers out there! I'm gunning for you, and I will take you out! (and that doesn't mean "on a date".

AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! so today was supposed to be the day DCUC3 came to a tru near me, but NO, apparently the manager guy was wrong and doesn't know at all when they'll come. I can't decide which is worse, that I had a small tease of the series before my GL's leg broke off and was heart broken, or that the series hasn't even hit major stores yet!!!
