Possible multi-figure themed charity auction

Posted in Custom Workstation

A lot of other sites have put together auctions where several members will make customs, then put them up on ebay with the auctions going towards charity.

Some themes I was thinking of have been:

90's animated X-Men team

A mish mash of Avengers

The Dark Avengers

Thunderbolts

so on and so forth

Would anyone be interested in participating in this??

Seems like I am late to the party but I just happened across this thread and thought it was a great idea. I guess the next obvious question is how it's done. Does everyone involved send their donated customs to one person who in turn sells them on ebay and sends the donated customs to their new owners?. I guess another question I have when I donate to charity is that ...Does the money actually get to the charity and how am I sure it gets there. I donate toys (actually action figures) to our local fire dept. every year@ Christmas time. I even go to the event where they hand out the toys to needy boys and girls when I can just to see their faces. It's a cause that is near a dear to my heart because when I was growing up I was the needy little boy that would stand in those lines (seemingly forever) and would leave crushed with a unicorn poster or stuffed animal, but at the same time hopeful that I would get a cool transformer or gi joe or he-man figure the next year but it never happened. So as an adult every year I would go through my immense collection and just go thru and find the toys I bought on clearance just cause it was on clearance or stuff I was no longer into and gather them up for donation. But I would hand pick one "very cool" toy that maybe hurts me to give but I do so hoping it makes it to a little boy not unlike myself growing up. I am not a rich man actually I am far from it and I know times are hard and everyone is feeling the pinch but I think there will be people who would be willing to participate. I know I am willing to participate under a couple of conditions. First it has to be brought to everyone's attention here on the Realm. Because the only way this endeavour will be successful is if either A lot of people participate or a few BIG time customizers get involved. Second condition is that there has to be a way to check to see how much each persons' donated custom made and it made it to the correct charity. Lastly I would only make a custom for this cause if the theme is something I can make and make well. My skills are severly limited and I only make a certain customs decently. I know it's for charity but I will not send out what I think is crap. Having never sold a custom I am not sure what people would think of my work. So I will send it in only if I am proud of it and am pretty sure that someone out there would appreciate it. Actually if any would review and critique my work and tell me if I have the talent to even be involved I would really appreciate it. My customs are under the name Suprasizeme. I am sorry for being long winded, but I really hope this custom charity auction takes off.

I think it would be up to a vote for the people involved. I've just been feeling like doing anything charitable lately, so I don't honestly have much of a preference.

Do you have any pictures of your stuff? I couldn't find you in the index

Hey, I'm not here to judge anybody, and I like your work just fine. The question is, do you think your customs are good enough?

oh me too, but I feel like I could pull up enough time to make just one guy. Obviously no one is obligated and its not like I'm pressuring anyone, but I just thought more people would be more interested in this
