Disassembling 3.75" Figures

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hi, I'm new here & to customizing in general. I have a couple ideas for customs, but they would involve swapping parts on MU/DCIH 3.75" figures and I don't want to ruin my figures due to not knowing what I'm doing. I've seen that there are some really good tutorials on this site for disassembling 6" figures, but nothing that addresses smaller scale figures. So, does anyone have any advice on how to disassemble 3.75" figures (specifically MU/DCIH)...other than the generic "boil/heat and pop" answer that I find everywhere? Would the method of drilling a small pilot hole in the seam to crack open a figure be an effective method for these small figures or is there a better way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
