I'm not entirely happy with the results but I attached some extra arms to one of my customs by dremmeling a socket into the shoulder and filling it with hot glue than drilling into that and heat popping the arm in.

Hmmm. Well, you can get picture references from other customs. Do a search on figurerealm for 6 armed spiderman and Goro... Especially Goro.

I've seen guys just crack the body open and insert extra arms with drilling holes where needed. I've also seen some actually crack the body and make holes big enough where the arms look more flush with the body (require a lot more sculpting to hide hole imperfections). It's hard to explain but if you study a few customs like I mentioned above then you'll probably find a way like I did.
