This is the thread for everyone's tricks and tips on customizing that don't deserve there own threads. Here are a coupe of mine. Most kinds of ink can be used for many things like dying plastic, giving paint washes, it also can be used as a clear coat on clear plastic.
It works best with any dark collors black, blue, green, purple, etc but it also can be used with lighter collors. I used orange permentent marker for the joints on my triceraton custom. Be aware that a light collor like orrange won't covver well if youre base figure is a dark collor. Also I don't suggest mixing paint with the ink. Paint sits on the surface of a meterial. The idea of using ink or dy is for it to soke in a bit.
does this work with flesh color or mainly blacks for a base coat? I`m going to give it a shot with my ink and see if it`ll work , so just heat the base figure with like a hair dryer and put paint in the ink ?
Sorry about all the questions I really am, just any tips are good tips to have and try
What I do is I take the figure completly apart heat up the peaces (in my experiance this makes thy ink stay better) then I just paintthe ink on or marker it on if I'm using perminent markers. The markers actually work better then painting it on because it makes less of a mess.
this is goin to sound such a nobb question , but dying plastic? I honestly didn`t know you could do it , do you just soak the item in ink or dye and wait a few hours? what kinda dye can you use? sorry for the questions but never knew trhis could happen ....

I use Winsor and Newton Ink. I also use permanent markers for dying the plastic sometimes.
