Need help on disassembling 3.75" figures

Just wondering what method is the easiest to disassemble the upper torso of G.I.Joe and Marvel Universe figures this also includes the separation of the arms ( removing the shoulder ball joint from torso ), if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it THANKS!!!

Only taken the arms off two marvel universe figures but heat n pop worked on both, they were sabertooth and war machine
