1st- Countpichula Iswore I replied to this last time D: but damn thats crazy man, get well soon!
2nd- Goldenwolf thats awesome thanks I'm gonna give both methods a try. They are bothe really cool ideas. and can I use like christmas ribbons? because I have a ton laying around the house. and that punisher looks ingenious with the ribbon on, I always wondered if it was possible to make something like a skin tight aromour for figs. Also where did the dp head come from? moon knight?
3rd- Caretaker the leather sounds expensive? and thick and howd you get them to stick krazy glue?
these were so helpful! thanks you guys and you wouldn't happen to have a good cape tutorial for fabric capes?
Some good ideas here, I have used the foamy from time to time and it works. I'm not too good with sculpey or sculpting yet, so I will hafta venture into using it for holsters. I usually buy the big packs of leather at Hobby Lobby and cut and measure it for holsters and scabbards, if not I have cut up a few old leather jackets of mine to use for straps and such....it was a cheap leather jacket before you ask. LOL
That's a good idea. I had toyed with the nylon crazy glue noting but never got around to it. I bought the foamy instead but I'm gonna have to give your concept a try. Creates a nice smooth Tiny holster for knifes and guns.
What's up bro . I noticed your post and this is what I used for all my holsters there cheap and yOu can get everything at walmart for under $5 go to the craft section & get nylon craft black ribbon the thin ones are like 0.52 cents a spool and the thicker one that looks the same just wider for about $1.00 the. Go to the house paint section and get the 2 tubes for Krazy Glue for like $3.00 total should be under or just over $5.00.
But you take the wider ribbon wrap your gun once over in a cone shape and glue the folded piece in place then glue the extra fold in place to give it a hard backing . You can use the thin ribbon as a liner to wrap around the top of the holster ( sort of like a cuping ) then you can add a top strap with the same size ribbon . Just get creative with it because when you glue nylon it turns into a hard plastic so that will open many new doors for straps and pouches you can make. Aloha bro hope that helps.
Hehe...I have lots of wips but nothing finished. I am waitin till I can get a copy of three heads and Some weapons. Also some parts and presently I had major injuries. Little money and Ran out of fixit sculpt. But some Tim soon I should be close to finishing at least two. I think it was pretty catchy. lol btw I can't find a customizer profile for you. Have you posted anything because I saw your wips and theyre all pretty cool let me tell you your zombie spider-man put me in a mode to make one myself. but until I get a base for it I'm turning my sinister 6 spidey into a super poseable deadpool
Really great suggestions! I like using bicycle innertubes mysefl. Olja1 made a holster out of one for his Paladin a while back you might wana check out! Just another option.
Thanka you guys I'm going to try both methods and see which works best for me. and thanks for the visual countpichula I hope the tutorial is just as helpful
if you would, I have made a holster I am quit proud of and its easily duplicable. first start with foamy: its a simple foam sheet. cut and shape it and use glue to connect it ( I used two parts a curve and a rectangle.) and then glue parts you want to retain their form. I left the gun in to see what shape I wanted it to have for this part. I messured and cut rubberbands for straps making sure to only glue THE PARTS CONNECTED TO THE HOLSTER. otherwise it will not be elastic...it will be hard.
then I sculpted over it with fixit
the using fixit again, I sculpeted a front extra clip holder and cut a rubberband stip to use as a strap and same for the device on the side fix it and rubberbands.
also you might note Two seams created using twist ties that are used to keep figs locked into their shells I wanted to mimmic the look of nylon seams. I am in the process of doing a tutorial on this since I am making one for supersizeme. it will be the demo one. since mine was a trial and error experiment. hope this helped! also the above about saran wrap is true good way to go if you just want to use fixit as a base.
