I have a movie iron man figure, and its paint has some wear in places..instead of repainting it I thought of adding a big black burn/blast mark on him...like in the first movie when the tank shoots him down and he gets up with the blast mark on his chest.
so any advice or tips on how to get the burnt look? without setting fire to it
For gundams I used to take TAMIYA pens and draw a semi circle then put my thumb on it and pull. Making nice laser blasts or space garbage nicks. Best of luck!
I would have to agree with patraw, he has skills. Or if you have any plastic dremel shavings use a bit of that if ash doesn't hold up and/or use superglue to protect it more. I know posing the fig would be more limited if you didn't reinforce the smudgey debris.
You could try dry brushing a bit of black paint on the figure and then smudging it with your fingertips to achieve a smooth burn effect. Might be able to smudge some actual ash or something on there too, and then seal it, so it doesn't rub off.
