Metallic white effect?

Hi, I'm working on an iron patriot figure (I know, I know- but I had to have one!) and I've used the technique where you paint the whole figure black, drybrush it silver and then use clear paints to achieve a metallic look. It works great with red and blue, but is there any way to achieve a similar effect with white? As far as I can tell, there isnt a clear white paint, and I think the figure might look a little odd to have an all metallic effect and then flat white parts.
