I've been out of the hobby a long while but I'm jumping back in!
However, I'm having nothing but trouble painting the joints for Cable-Pool. Whenever I bend his arms and legs the paint scrapes off. I'm using Golden Acrylics from Michael's Art & Craft store. He was originally a 3 3/4" grey Deadpool.
Here's what I've done so far:
Try #1 - watered down the red & black paint and applied multiple layers. Then hit it with two layers of Testor's dull cote and waited a night. Paint still scraped off.
Try #2 - use red & black permanent markers first. Then applied watered down paint and used Krylon paint sealant. Still no good.
At this point I'm so frustrated I may just take the joints apart and cast them in the color I need but his shoulder joint will still be a problem. I tried to attach pics but since I'm new member I can't. I do have a photobucket account for anyone who wants to take a look at him though.
Have you tried sanding down the sockets?, see where the paint is scraping off onto then lightly sand that part of the socket. Keep testing as you go to make sure you don't go too far. Just go slow, this tutorial maybe some help, although it's not on the 3.75" scale.
Thanks!
