skin tone

Posted in Custom Workstation

hey fellas, I have a problem with skin color. I use model masters acrylic skin tone #4603. @ 1st it was ok, but then I started to notice that its real lumpy/gunky and hard to paint on. real thick. I wanna know wat u guys use for skin color and if u have any ideas I'd like to hear them.
also I use testors guards red acrylic and kinda the same thing. I put on the 1st coat and let it dry, then when I apply the 2nd coat the 1st comes off with it. very fustrating.
let me know what u guys think. thanx

that has been my experience also, so I like to water down the skin tones quite a bit, I also have found metallic paints to be thinner then most paints.

Is it just me, or no matter what skin tone you use, it's always thicker than other paints?

I had the same problem, I solved it bye adding some water to the paint to thin it down and then doing many very very thin layers of dry brushing before applying the base coat, also make sure your plastic is very clean before starting and sanding the surface of the plastic slightly never hurts,

try thinning out your paint with a few drops of windex, and stir, not shake!
