A question about paint

Posted in Custom Workstation

So I've made a couple of customs in the past with whatever was lying around my house, but am now goin to start really customizing more professionally(with sculpt and the paints used by other customizers on here). So I was at michaels looking at testors paints, and they only said testors acrylics on the label. Not testors model masters acrylics. Whenever I see other customizers use testors, it's always testors model masters. So are there differences between the two and if so, what are they?

That's quite possible. They were at Michael's on a relatively abandoned looking shelf.

Perhaps you got a bad batch, or one that had been in stores past there shelf time, because I've been using mine for a long time and I even like to use them for basecoats because of how strong they adhere to the plastic, another possibility is that testors may have changed there recipe for the paints between the time you used them and I did.

Not to contradict Pock, but those were the first paints I ever bought and they practically fell off the figures. They are not really durable, and I believe they are designed for harder plastic. (rigid plastic car models and such) I threw mine out. That's just my experience though.

Testers Acrylic is just as good of paint, the only difference in my experience is that testers acrylic is always glossy while the model masters have a much wider variety of colors and finish's.
