You can bend the pins into "L" shaped, 90-degree angle cradle-like brackets too, which would keep them from falling off the walls better than straight or slightly angled pins would.

Depending on the character you're making the armory for, and how much work you want to put into it, you could do something more classy like gun cabinets too.

I would suggest placing the items, drawing around or placing the pins, then paint it up. Almost any pins or nail(with heads cut off) put in at an angle would work. The other I would suggest is small pieces of twist ties(especially if your going for a fence/mesh background/wall. Like a fenced cage or some such.

The T shaped one or standard would work nicely.

those pins that are "t" shaped? thats a good idea..I was thinking small finishing nails but those pins would work better..you could turn the heads vertical so it acts as a small weapon hook

You could try stick pins, for sewing, but you'd need to know where you would want them. Then you would just hang the weapons on the pins, like a rack.

I was thinking of using some of that foam board you get at the craft stores.

I mainly want to display swords, axes, spears and knives..so I don't see how I could use a magnet on weapons that small and thin. thanks for the ideas guys

What are you gonna make the walls out of? I might have some ideas for you.

could you get those super tiny magnetic strips? they are super thin and you could just glue them and put a dot of paint over?
