Tips for photographing the glow-in-the-dark effect?

Posted in Custom Workstation

Anybody have some advice for capturing a toy's glow-in-the-dark effect?

This is what I got, using no flash, in the dark, with some glow-in-the-dark dinosaur model skeletons (a Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus), which came out spectacularly bad:

Maybe if I shot them at dawn/dusk or in some other kind of low-light condition that isn't complete darkness?

My digital camera is probably around a decade old (it's only 1.3 megapixels), so maybe it's just not up to the task.

I would try with a dim light source behind you. Having the only light coming from the glow-in-the-dark effect is probably what is giving the camera trouble.
