Clone Troopers (Utility Belts)

Has anyone tried to remove the utility belts off of Clone Trooper figures? I went to do it but I am afraid to damage the belt. I would like to know if it can be done without damage.

What scale? if you're taking 3.75" then a knife through the belt will cleave it off and it'll be fine. Super glue and you can add it to a new figure
