Elbow and knee pins

Posted in Custom Workstation

I have tried and tried to replace the pins back in elbow and knee joints after I take them apart but can't for the life of me ever do it. I've tried softening them in hot water, opening the hole more and still no luck. Can someone please give me a tip or two. Thanks.

A water based lubricant like KY helps as well and dries clear and smell free (unless you buy the scented kind)

It might sound a little gross but if I have a stubborn peg I just heat up the soft plastic with a hair dryer real good then suck on the peg for a sec and get a little slobber on it and it usually slides right it. You gotta lick it before you stick it

Did you paint the pegs and/or pegholes? It may not seem like it, but paint does add thickness to an object, so, that may be why you're having trouble getting them to fit too.

You're probably just not heating enough, they should go in pretty easy with enough heat. If you're getting it halfway then getting stuck just apply more heat once you've got it halfway and try again.
