It's not easy but heat and pop does work on sota figures. You're gonna have to throw a whole butt load of heat at him though with the torso being so thick but it does work. More heat the better as the crotch piece is hard plastic. Just make sure you pull the two apart carefully and try to pull as straight as possible as the peg from the crotch into the lower torso can be quite brittle and can break easily when bent.
