Animated style Figures

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Besides the Spectacular SpiderMan line, can anyone tell me of any other figures that are in a Cartoon-like Animated style with almost ML style articulation?

Ugh, that doesn't do much for me. I loved Spectacular Spider-Man's stories (especially since they followed the comics loosely, but threw curveballs in there for the familiar fans), and I loved the dialogue. But I hated the character's designs and the animation style. Luckily the story was good enough to look past that.

Gentle Giant made some Hellboy Animated figures that are close to ML scale and articulation, sadly there are only 2:

And if I'm remembering correctly, the character designer for The Spectacular Spiderman is the same character designer for the Hellboy Animated movies.

They rerun the cartoon on Toon Disney, unfortunately. It was a horrible cartoon! Fox was trying to cash in on the success of their X-Men and Spider-Man animated series which had both recently ended. But they failed horribly with Avengers. The cartoon was nothing like the comics, the character's dialogue was horribly cheesy, and their costumes looked they went all Power Rangers. Ri-god-darn-diculous.

you're probably right, I do remember the dialogue being really bad, I didn't get to see many episodes, but I remember it as an attempt to at least go "by the book" like X-Men Animated 90s and Spiderman Animated 90s, so maybe bad but better than like Avengers Teen Force or something like they would show today

Seen some Street Fighter figs with ML style articulation. They seem pretty pricey though.

For that I'd suggest looking at online reviews or checking out your local toy aisles and taking a good look at some of the toys and keep an eye out for articulation points.
