I think part of the truth behind hte Marvel universe figures is partly costs and partly to stop customizers from making figures that look better than the store bought versions. Look how hard it is to do good customizing of a Universe figure, the legs don't come off so you can't swap them out.
I am just going to continue to make Marvel Legends customs on the six inch schale I actily think this might benifit custimizers because the fans of Marvel Legends will be dying to buy some new figures for there collections.
Frankly, I hate Marvel Universe. For me, Star Wars and GI Joe is fine in that scale, but superheros, they have to be 6 inches or a bit more. But for customisers, I think this line is better, because still a lot of figures aren't made, so there is a lot of potential market. Making customs is a bit harder, but at least for me is not too complicated, as I have made some Star Wars customs in the past.
only problem with this theory is that customs bring in money. my ml spending tripled (not exaggerating) after I started customizing. I now tend to buy 2 or 3 of every figure if there is any possibility of turning them into someone else.
The legs do come off, and you can make customs of them. I made a Deathstroke out of Deadpool, and a Scorpion out of a Hand Ninja, both in the database, and people could make GI Joe customs right? Same scale, and don't take thsi the wrong way, but it's not hard to look better than some of the MU figures, I mean, Spider-man's knee joints are on his shins
We were spoiled so long with 6 inch scale now it's time to work in a new scale.
Customisers will adpet and will soon be cranking out rocking MU customs.
It's just a matter of learning to work in a new medium.
