Genuine query, your help needed.

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Ok, you have probably heard me whining about non availability of DCUC and mL figures over here in the UK (and Europe in general), so I have tried to order figures from my local comic shops, but they won't order in because you need to order a case at a time.
So I have decided I am going to order several cases of several waves, select the ones I need, and put the others at cost price plus shipping on e bay or amazon.
Not scalping: making available at a fair pice. This way, my hobby is paid for and others in UK get their mitts on recent figures!

My question is, if I am not a business, where do I start??? Who do I contact to get prices, check vailability and so on?

Please point me in the right direction, because I am eager to get started!!

Thanks people.

OK, good to go. I am now a business! I am called "Spandex and Spacesuits!!"

My account is being approved, I need to llocate a credit card to it, and I can order!!
I will be taking orders on this realm for people who are finding it difficult to get figures, so European realmers, keep your eyes peeled.
It is also possible I can get cases delivered within the USA and Canada too, so that you can take out what you have bought, then you forward the remainder to me.
Anyway, happy days!!!

david from http://www.cooltoysworld.com may be able to point you in the right direction.

He's gone from collection to store recently.

Maby you can find some other people who live in youre earia and also collect the same runs. Then you could buy the figures at once. On most on line stores there are special deals on shipping if you buy more.

yeah I think BBTS has some friends in odd places as they always have store and even con exclusives. The store exculsive BS is really unfair to people in Europe.

This kind of defeats the object pal.

I know, but it is probably the best you can do. if it is any consolation, I did mean store shelf retail. not collector's retail. should still be cheaper than 99% of online stores. I know to become a vender here, you have to pay something like $2500. not sure how it is on the island.

like I said though, if you have a cool comic store owner, you may be able to partner up and save some money.

know it has to be difficult though. if it was easy to get figures wholesale, everyone would do it.

of course all of this advice applies to non-exclusives. no idea if you can order exclusives wholesale at all. might need a shifty friend at walmart or something for that.

yeah they hit me pretty hard for transformers. Seems like they really love selling stuff only in cases so you end up with figures you don't want. I wonder how much hassle it is to become a vendor. I know here you basically need a business liscense and the paperwork and you're set to go.

I know if you order from bigbadtoystore you're paying more than retail and more than you would if you could order from hasbro but I'm not sure there is a whole lot you can do.

[quote="BurchCustoms"]it is usually hard to get cases from the manufacturer unless you have a vender's license.

I would recommend talking to one of your favorite comic shops and work something out with them. let them know you will front the money on the cases they order. might have to pay a bit of a royalty to them, but if you are willing to pay retail price for the figures, the difference betwen the vender price and the retail price may be enough for them.

might even tell the shop you will use their name in all the ebay pages for advertising.

basically, it is in your best interest to have a vender friend. if you have any cool comic shop owners around, that should be your first stop.

The only place I know of that sells cases is bbts.com and you'll be paying a premium assuming they have them in stock. You might be able to contact hasbro.com about buying cases of figures.
