What's the last comic book / TPB you read?

Posted in Off Topic

Read Batman: Haunted Knight, love the way they draw Scarecrow! Too bad I don't see more of him in the comics...

As always Penguin is on top of his game.

If anybody plans on picking this TBP up I highly recommend reading the previous ones or you are in for a world of confusion.
Well I do work in a book store and we have A lot of Manga

that is Vertigo you are thinking of. Dark Horse is it's own company like Marvel and Image are.

As far as I know, Mark Hamill does not own Dark Horse. He did co-write a comic for them called "The Black Pearl" in '96 though.

Doesn't Mark Hamill own Dark Horse?

Great, Punisher keeps missing golden opportunities to kill Fisk because of horrible writers and their horrible plot twists and here Peter gets a chance to do it barehanded. I hate you Marvel

Looks like a fun read!

I just read Hellsing Vol 8 and holy crap. The stuff that goes down this time is insane, but alas like all the Hellsing books it leaves you on a cliffhanger until the next one releases, and who know how long that will be. They have a tendacy to not be very periodic but Hirano trys to get them out once a year.

Aye. Kingpin had her shot - well, actually the guy was going for Mary Jane but Peter shoved her out of the way.

'splains why he's a wee bit pissed at the moment.

I love the way Peter plans to kill the Kingpin, too.

And the fact that it'll happen when Aunt May dies. Methinks their worry over hospital bills may soon be over...

okay just read the Captain America Civil War TPB - was kinda boring, maybe I'm just not that big a fan of Cap. Do like the Winter Soldier though. He's kind of an amalgam of Cap and Wolverine in a way.

also read The Punisher (MAX): "The Slavers" - that was some chilling stuff. Garth Ennis pulls no punches - the sickest bunch of evil dirtbags Frank has ever exterminated. Unfortunately I'm sure that the story was based on a lot of fact which is sickening.

I'm thinking he just beat him up pretty bad. But I wouldn't mind seeing Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, or Black Bolt die.

I lied - got Planet Hulk HC collection. Couldn't resist - I'm on the Mile High Comics email list and they ran a half off TPB / HC sale so I got it for $20.

Pretty good story and great art. I will now always refer to him as Holku. So cute.

So did he actually kill Black Bolt in the 1st WWH or did he just beat the snot out of him? I would think that Holku would be going all Frank Castle on the Illumanti for blowing his babe and newly conquered world all to dust.

Just reread Marvel 1602. Gaiman is a great writer to say the least. The follow up "New World" sucked hard though... Shoulda gotten him to write that too.

"Bah! Hulk get screwed again!"

I'm going to get the Planet Hulk story when they put it out as a TPB. So is he the "smart" Hulk again, the Mr. Fixit personality or something new? Hulk has more personalities than Sybil!

"I like this so far, but we don't want him happy".."Exactly why a bomb goes off and kills his wife and baby"" BRILLIANT!!" Don't plan on getting it. But I am getting the MAX ongoing and its pretty good. I suggest getting it once this story arc ends, or get all of the previous ones from the story arc.

I don't know... trapped with a bunch of guys during a cruel Siberian winter... one day suddenly Yuri is starting to look good... it could happen, even to a guy that can turn his flesh into organic steel. Or.. um.. so I've heard. I wouldn't have any first hand knowledge of that. *belch* *scratches privates in a manly manner*

The funny thing is Ult Colossus is portrayed almost as violent as Wolverine. Don't piss off those gay Russian dudes, they'll harm you.

I picked up Ultimate X-Men 1 - 69 on CD ROM from Best Buys for $10. I was impressed with a lot of it, especially all the stuff Bendis wrote. There are a few things that happen in the series that are kinda goofy / unbelievably unbelievable even for a comic book - especially when Wolverine commits attempted murder on Cyclops and then a few issues later Cyclops forgives him and invites Wolverine back into the group. "Hey, even though you dropped me into a deep hole where I broke several major bones, was unable to move and had to eat bugs to survive for a month I'll turn the other cheek and trust you to watch my back in a fire fight again." WTF?! It was a terrible plot twist idea from the start. Other than that I thought it was pretty good.

And Prof. X is a major tool.

And Cyclops is an even bigger tool than he is in the regular Marvel Universe.

And Colossus is gay but much more prone to violence.

And Angel is a wuss.

Guess they're trying to make it a bit more realistic.
