Ultimate Wolverine

Posted in Off Topic

OK this is going to sound a little comic book geeky and excuse me if I'm missing something because my Ultimate X-Men reading is so far confined to the first 2 story arcs, issues 1 - 10 I think, anyway -

How old is Ultimate Wolvy? He' supposed to have been in the first Gulf War so that should make him at least 10 - 15 years older than the rest of the Ult. X-Men - Jean Grey is 17 when the series starts. Depending on who is drawing the book Wolvy looks like he's anywhere between 20 to 25! He should be in his 30's! Are they making him like the original Wolvy where he's older than dirt?

Why do I care... hell I don't know. Lack of sleep.

Yeah ist cool Bob-a - its just I have been on sites when you say something innocuous like that collosus statement and immediately your pounced on by some guerilla wafare Militant Gay Lobby that start bashing you as prejudiced....

I was at art college for christs sake - half my class were gay
Art College teaches 3 things

1- Tolerance
2- How to draw naked woman without tent pitching
3- Greater adventures in herbal and recreational chemistry

Four if you combine the naked Chicks and recreational chemistry part: - I call my wife

Five if you count having tolerance of 2 and 3 - but only the chosen few make the great

And yeah don't worry about the fat beer belly - I'm at 'the cuddly stage' my wife keeps consoling me with

We are tribe brother...

dude offending me requires degrading mine or anothers mother and or harming the helpless I am so dang thick skined ( and yes I mean skin not my fat beer belly. No I am being careful because I recently did hurt someones feelings and I didn't mean to and I don't want to reapet that mistake so I am being kinda of cautious.

I thought it was kind of weird at first too, I just laterI just kind of accepted that he was gay and it makes so many good jokes avaliable.
Not to mention the Irony of it all.

I just would like some stronger writing in it.

No you didn't offend me at all - but if I did you - I apologise
I shouldve clarified its wasn't the fact they turned a character gay - it was why they did it

It seemed like a cheap gimmick at first - but I guess I should give it another chance

Like you I thought the writing was weakest on that compared to the Ultimate Avengers, FF and Spidey
Wasn't happy at wolverine getting ripped in half by hulk neither

I know I put Ultxmen down and went back to reading 616 continuity

I love the ult. universe but I wish they would be more consistant with the artists personally. I like the small differences including collosus being gay (sorry if that offends just my opinion.) I mean the Ult FF makes more snese now, its all reed fault well dooms but its not a cosmic accident it is reed being to smart for his own good and doom assisting him in screwing up. Ult spidermans clone saga is a 100 times better than the original, I love that scorpion is a clone
but all in all I am an Ult universe fan for as long as it runs nuff said

Yeah, I saw a recent pic of Ult. Wolverine in the last Marvel Preview and he looks like he's wearing pajamas. Plus now they're making him look just like the regular Wolverine... I liked the way Kubert drew Ult. Wolvy in the first issues of Ult. X-Men because it looked like they were trying to get away from that goofy hair style and the mutton chops.

Oh well. I'm actually surprised the Ultimate titles have lasted as long as they have. I thought Ultimate Spider-Man was pretty well done but they are in such a rush to revisit all of the major plot lines from the original - death of Gwen, Venom, clone saga.... sheesh Bendis needs to take his time and come up with some new ideas.

I'm mad at the Ultimates because I got a Marvel Super Heroes chess set a while back and every figure is a regular Marvel figure except Wolverine and Jean Grey. They look rediculous because they aren't in classic costumes like everyone else. and Jean looks like a little red headed boy.

Meh, looking at some Ultimate suits, I'm hating about 90% of them. It's like they either got too lazy to come up with something creative or they went way over-board with the suit and added too much detail. xD

Um... maybe because they want their Wolverine to be old too?

WTF! Who the hell is editing them?! I thought the idea of the Ultimate line to carve off a lot of the crap history characters have built up over the years. Why do they keep something like that?!
