Captain America how will they bring him back!???

Posted in Off Topic

Spent 4th of July reading Captain A back issues, I felt I was patriotic in doing so!
I recently bought some back issues that I only found at Midtown Comics, seems they are hard to find from the 1990's, maybe I'm not the only one with this theory I have.

Anyone wanna know the most likely way that they will bring Cap back? It makes sense and they say his being dead is dead, but c'mon so was Thor & the red Skull has been dead so many times its not funny. There I gave a hint.

The Cosmic Cube! Cap has been inside of it and has touched it to use it for a mere second!
Same as the Skull!

It sucks. If they kill a charcter they should stay dead like Buc....um no, oh well. I guss Jean Grey is dead at this moment and Aunt May looks to be dying again. I think they should keep Rodgers dead but bring Cap back.

I just read vol 3 issue 50 and Cap was killed there also. Then they brought him back in 2002 with no explanation.

So thats 3 times in 11 or 12 years that theyve killed Cap!

Well I thought for sure based on the events in the comics that they wouldn't dare bring him back, but according to that source, he never died. Before, In I honestly did believe it was never going to happen.

But yes, you did say that before.

I've heard a via a Marvel source I cannot name that Cap is not actually dead. Mind you, a week ago I would have said "shyeah right", but this seems pretty reliable.

I'm really at a loss about Caps death. For what I've heard he's dead for good or will not be coming back anytime soon. Plus the writing staff had really wrote itself into a corner. The title Captain America will survice but I'm doubting it will be Steve Rogers.

Not to forget that tere's an uncle ben from a different universe now in the mainstream marvel one after Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman: Derailed.

"The prominence of comic book deaths has led to a common piece of comic shop wisdom: "No one stays dead except Bucky, Jason Todd and Uncle Ben"[1] referring to Captain America's sidekick (dead since 1964 in real world publication, 1945 in fictional continuity, but brought back to life in Captain America vol. 5), Batman's second Robin (died in 1989; has since returned), and Spider-Man's uncle (dead since 1962), respectively. Ironically, both Todd and Bucky returned from the dead in 2005, and an Uncle Ben from a timeline where he never died recently entered mainstream continuity in the recent issues of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Note that sometimes a character can be dead in the mainstream continuity, but alive in an alternate reality, such as the aged Bucky in the Ultimate Marvel universe, or Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy's return in the House of M storyline."

It'll be a fancy dan skrull shape change experimental organ mcguffin thats turned someone else into cappy - or one of the best LMDs ever that can full wolverines senses

Cappy aint dead

And if he is - the supersoldier serum in him will muate and regenerate him or some other BS

its comics - they can do whatever they like to bring him back

Supermans never been dead for long - neither will cappy

My two cents - stick em in your pocket throw them down the drain

Agent 13 can't spill the beans, she tried but whatever Faust had done to her it won't let her. Just like it won't let her kill herself. Its the ultimate revenge on the 2 Red Skull actually won one. I mean until WS kicks the bones outta him

Hey buzzy, don't go buy issue 26 or 27! Sharon doesn't cop to it! Issue 27 Bucky does steal caps shield though! It was a good issue!
I'm really glad everyone got in on this debate (topic)
and I agree with the fact that Marvel being the marketing giant will NEVER bring Cap back!
They said that Thor was gone too!
In the long run everyone that believes Quesada will learn their lesson. He's also the main guy that said Thor was dead for good!

I just read Cap #25 and the 5 "Fallen Son" books. What's goofy is that no one saw Sharon Carter pump four slugs into Cap's stomach. Just the fact alone that the sniper got off one shot and yet Cap has 5 bullets (4 in the mid section) in him would have SHEILD saying "WTF?!"

And Carter knows she did it under hypnotic suggestion - has she 'fessed up yet? Do I really have to go buy Cap #26 now?

Oh and to keep in line with the topic - Namor will use some Atlantean ancient mojo whatchamacallit on Cap to bring him back to life.

I think it would've been better if Hawkeye / Clint Barton took over as Cap and then doublecrossed Iron Man. But now he's Ronin.

I'm just glad that with all this publicity of late, Cap is once more being seen by young people as cool and not "lame"... it gladdens my heart to see actual heroic superheroes becoming popular again and shifting away from the dark grim and gritty antiheroes. I remember back in the 90s, new fans hated characters like Captain America, calling them lame, gay and worse... in favor of the murderous gun and blade wielding "heroes" like Wolverine, Spawn and half the Image titles at the time.

they are scheduled to release a Captain America movie in the near future, and even an avengers movie if you go far enough down the rabit hole. So with that said, I think that in a marketing way, his return would be very big. The whole world knew about cap dying, I mean everyone, it was in the freakin news paper. he is a symbol of the united states and I know that the powers that be at marvel have said that they are keeping him dead, I think that we will be seeing our Captain in the next couple years. Its still pretty fresh(his death) and there is a lot of conspiracy theories that they can play with. The only one I can rule out is the skrull one. Only because its been seen that they revert to their original form when they die, but perhaps they found a way. Anyways, I have never ruled out ressurection in any comic universe and I aint starting now with this one. Lots of good ideas on this post but I think that the truth will either be much bigger or frustratingly simple, there is no medium with these guys. I hope to see him back, I mean its cool to see Hawkeye wearing the costume when that rat ironman convinced him to. And even the punisher right now as you all know wheres a costume similar but with Franks own twist. Winter Soldier would be a good pick, I see him as Batmans robin(but a lot more dangerous and cool), and I think that readers would have the easiest transition with that. With that being said, im enjoying everyones thoughts on this topic, and if you want to see the power of a good return, check out Thors new series, donald blake is back and thor hasnt looked so kick @ss in years. Thanks for listening if anyone has, and have a Captacular day soldiers.

Nah he knew he could duck and the guards would jump him thinking he was trying to escape or he could let them know it is their job if he wanted but it wasn't Cap, I am telling you they will explain it as a skrull programmed clone or something like that

I feel you bro however I have to say cap looked at the sniper and didn't stop them WHY this is not his character and I have a feeling it is something like a skrull clone of him because the body in the helicarrrier detorierated way quick and iron mad says they can't figure it out other than the supersoldier serum must be working in reverse but he hasn't had the serumin him since fighting chance story line so it doesn't add up.
I don't think he could stop the snipper he was without shield and handcuffed, best of the situation was he could save the gaurd.

Not gonna happen, bro. That's a total deus ex machinae, and Joe Quesada has gone on record of loathing the use of DEM in Marvel comics.

Now I've got everyone wondering!!! Dr. Nightmare says you must consider where the shots hit, true but 4 in the chest, five in the chest same thing. They can't keep Thor dead & they won't keep Cap dead! Even if they say they are! Its not like the series title changed to Winter Soldier and can they really end it and start a Captain america what volume 6!????
I'm now trying to track down every Skull cosmic cube story just to see how much exposure cap's had to the cube. the fact he didn't die in the Cap/Falcon series with no explaination lends me to think he willed his" invunerability" when he did touch the cube.

I kinda hope they don't bring him back, I think it would sully the story. The death (as much as I was disapointed that they did it) has a poetic thing to it. Bucky returns Caps dies it all comes full circle.

Okay so Captain america Falcon #13 (2004?) Cap is shot 4 times outside Falcons aprtment and announced dead on arrival at the hospital. Issue # 14 Cap comes back to life no explanations.

What gets me is I forgot about having read this, its really hard to remember everything in comics.

But that means that if Cap is really dead then Marvel is either so disorganized the writers don't know what happened when or what issue or they simply expect us to be soooo stupid as to not expect an explanation as how he died from a few gunshots, when he's survived before.

In a comic (duh, lol), I think it was around the third Punisher Series, maybe a one-shot? I'd have to look for it through my digital comic pile

Frank was going to kill some guys but Elektra kept doing it before him to piss him off, lol.

Edit: I'm such a geek, they also had a kid in a Punisher 2099 One Shot, haven't seen it though, only heard of it.

replace "hiding" with "shacked up in Frisco"

They spent a lotta time in cramped foxholes during the war.... a LOT of time... even when they weren't being shot at.

Don't even imply that Captain America was in Clinton's army!! Blasphemer! Burn the heretic!!

It'd be cooler if Bucky or Frank Castle took over and became the new Cap.
