Green Lantern is freaking awesome! Always has been! I started reading it regularly during the Emerald Dawn Mini-Series and followed the series after that and haven't stopped. It's STILL on my pull-list at the comic shop! I'm kinda bummed that Kyle's no longer in the driver's seat, but it's a small complaint considering the magic Geoff Johns has been working on this series. Rebirth and Sinestro Corps War were the best GL stories I had read since Emerald Twilight. Both were absolutely amazing and IMO 2 of the best comic stories of the entire decade! I just really wish the writers of GL Corps knew Kyle's character, cause they don't write him like the Kyle I had been reading about for the last 10 before that.

Jack was never used to his full potential. It was a good idea to have a GL like Chance but I can't really say I will miss him. Maybe if the character had been developed a little more, but as is he was just a Lobo wannabe with a power ring and I'm glad he is gone. Parallax had to kill someone or he wouldn't be a threat I suspect Jack may be just the first of a string of useless GL's to fall.

your right, maybe DC will bring him back using 4 replacment chances and one of them will destroy something and someone will go bonkers and.........wait de'javu

yeah the Sinestro corps special is seriously dark...I love it though. there's some nice twists and turns in the GL Corps too although I am way behind on those, my last read was #11 and they're on what 21 now? Still though, I'm working on a serious budget and my favorite local comic shop closed it's doors on Monday so it'll take me a while to catch up. Sorry but I refuse to pay $6 shipping for a $3.99 comic on eBay...that shipping pirate stuff just erks me to no end!

I love the scene In the Sinestro special with all the rings flying back er um never mind, buy the comic and read it!!

But I tend to lose MAMMOTH chunks of continuity then play catchup ever since I got my sight back

I'll prolly wait till its collected on Bit Torrent and Download it as I still can't read comics normally with my vision the way it is

I need it backlit and "on an easel" vertical surface

Therefor reading comics on PC is best for me

hey don't rule out all those really ticked off people from Sinestro's home planet. They are pretty fierce fighters and they will dang sure fight where they can to keep him at bey. Now naturally they'll get stomped on but remember, partisans can make a huge difference and every lantern started out as a "normal" person on thier homeworld...

Still though, exciting stuff and I also was one of the ones that voted for the Lantern contest if memory serves.

I thinks the secret is in the Evil biding their time (again) why not trap Ion in something a little more concrete that a yellow leggo.(not) How often have Villians lost cause they didn't pull the trigger? I'd say Ion is the downfall of the S.corps.
Thats or Hal gets wrecked and throws Coast City on Cyborg Supes ya know just for the irony

I think there is a way for Kyle to still destroy or atleast severly cripple the Sin Corp. If I recall correctly In Legends of the Green Flame by Gaiman, Hal charges his ring with Alan Scott's battery and if kind of goes crazy filled with untamed magic from the Starheart I'm not sure if it fits into current continuity, but it ends up killing hal and superman, they are returned to life by deadman later. Sinestro only ripped out the Ion entity out of Kyle in the sin corp special as far as I can tell the piece of the starheart that Jade (Alan Scotts' daughter and one time girlfreind of Kyle's) is still in him. If he could regain control over Parallax even for a moment and releace this energy into the cental power battery on qward it may destroy it. This would also knock kyle's power level down (don't like characters with godlike powers). Just a theroy.

oh yeah! The best part of the sinestro corps? The rest of the dc universe has no idea that army is out there. How are they going to stop them? The Green Lantern's are already out, as the "best" or "most powerful" member is now gone, Ion. And the line up! Superboy, cyborg superman, antimoniter, Parrallax(ion), not to mention an whole ARMY of fearful people. Correct me if I'm wrong but how will the heros win this time?

here's a play by play of the up coming war:

Superman and JLA die trying to defeat Superboy Prime, as he's already killed several dozen gls, a superman, a flash...the list continues. And that was before he had power ring

that leave the jsa vs cyborg superman, a mass murderer in his own right, as he wiped out Coast city. Again, that was before he had a power ring. I'll give it to the jsa, but not before a lotta deaths and a buncha property damage.

Sinestro Vs Hal. That's a toughie, so I'll throw Parrallax into the mix, thus ensuring hal's loss. One of them he could probably take, but two?

The Anti-moniter, who will eat up and crap out all those Countdown hero/villians running around. And perhaps Jason Todd will stay dead this time.

And that leaves the whoel rest of the army to overrun the earth and collapse the multiverse down around our ears.

It's like DC can't stand to have one little smudge on Hal. They keep messing with history to make it seem like he wasn't at fault for anything bad he did. I blame the fans too though, all the whining when something they don't like happens. Will people complain that much when they find out Harry Potter turns evil at the end and <I>doesn't</I> get freaky with Hermione and dumps her for Zombie Wesley?

I mean, Hal is cool and all, but geez, he's just a guy, he needs to be able to make mistakes.

I would encourage you to pick it up if you can though it's still a good read.

Since Infinite Crisis I've read that a lot of the Emerald Dawn stuff is no longer in the continuity, specificly Hal's arrest for DUI and his prison sentence. Read about it here

The Emerald Dawn mini-series is pretty cheap, I got both off ebay for 10 bucks in mint condition.

I am and I love it, though I have one problem<not> if there is a story that involves long plot threads, such as this one, I feel compeled to collect the underlying story, which means Emerald dawn 1 and 2 <got> emerald twillight <got> Gl rebirth don't got, and Reign Of supermen, which leads to many other things, So I am so screwed money wise for a while

hey bro I am the one who brought on the Gl contest with the help of 4 other votes it is finally a reality. But if you look in the corner of every collectors stash GL will be there somewhere. its the other part of the oath In brightest day and darkest night every true geek will buy a GL comic at some point. So yeah we all have some gl in our collection And I have the entire run from GL series 1 #1 to current minus 4 issues and I need to replace 12 with better copies. And the new Sinestro GL war ha my inner geek running naked in the streets saying GLs Rock
