Comic Book Storyline Rumours

Posted in Off Topic

ok here's one I read on Fwoosh - DC have plans to kill off Bruce Wayne / Batman next summer and one of the Robins, I would guess either Dick or Jason, will become the new Batman - if it's true it's pretty sad that DC are so bereft of new story ideas that they have to rip off Marvel. the rumour also goes on that somehow Bruce wll become one of the New Gods after his demise.

I think it's a pretty stupid idea - if it's true.

this also got me wondering - who came back from the dead first - Bucky or Jason Todd?

I think Howard the Duck should replace Bruce Wayne...

No, Buzzy, you got it all wrong.

Batman will be killed and it will be revealed he was a skrull the whole time.

Especially since as I understand it, fans paid real money to vote to kill off Jason... bringing him back was insulting to those who forked over the cash to vote him dead.

O.
I get it now.
Yeah D-I-C-K should take over. Jason is not worthy, IMO.

Because the filter, filters out the word D-I-C-K and replaces it with monkey.

Who's monkey?

And that'd be totally dumb. They should kill off a hero no one cares about, like everyone other than Batman and Superman.

MONKEY = D-I-C-K The filter does that. LOL

You could say the same thing about Bucky.

As for the whole death of Superman thing, I have just a few things to say.

One, Superman is not DC's golden boy. Most of their revenue in comics, movies and toys comes from Batman, not Superman... even after Superman returns.

Two, "killing" a character off and bringing him back a year later (especially in 4 inane forms) doesn't count as killing the character off. That's just blatant blatant money mongering and (attempted) mass merchandising. A character must stay dead for at least 5 years imho for the death to count as a death.

Just my opinions... take them for what they're worth.

why not? they killed Superman and it was a huge moneymaker for DC. I'm just sick of the whole kill off X then ressurect X 12 issues later with some totally lame plot twist formula.

Marvel had done it right with Captain Marvel he was dead for almost 20 years before they brought him back - which is also stupid. should have left him dead and used this as the opportunity for Genis to finally rise to the occasion.

There's no way DC will kill off their golden boy. He's their main revenue maker. It'd be like Marvel killing off Wolverine. Not gonna happen.

Lol, I'd like to see that. I mean, there wasn't a big stink when Cap died, there shouldn't be one when Bats dies either. There's enough heroes to fill their shoes. Bigger, smarter heroes who aren't afraid to pull a trigger now and then
